@Dabangz: There are a couple of N8's lurking about...my friend is actually playing around with one of them. All I can say about it: Too little, too late.

all, exciting times we live in...

"graphene is the strongest material ever measured said that "It would take an elephant, balanced on a pencil, to break through a sheet of graphene the thickness of Saran Wrap."

Imagine this stuff being used in mobile phones
Apparently it can be made to be 98% transparent too...

I saw MTN advertsing some new phones, the N8 was there, with I think the IP4 in the middle of the bunch, wtf...
Anyway, there weren't any prices...

Oh my word, you'd think something like that would be getting loads of media hype. The car industry is in need of graphene to, with all these electric/battery powered cars, trying to lighten up parts etc... what got me was the point about a 100GHz CPU already being tested and 1THz CPU on the horizon ya,exciting times ahead, no doubt.

Really pointless, similar thing with the Aino, the whole screen is actually touch sensitive...

Lol, SE realy are the Pros at making some wack decisions, why didnt they just leave multitouch there? Shame about the Aino, SE should have made that thing Android IMO, very unique design, it would have made the perfect mid-end Android between X10mini and X10.

Dups, are you still planning on getting an Android?
Ive been an idiot, since getting the X10 ive been using either Opera Mini or UCWeb, never realy gave the built-in the default browser a chance due to my awful experience with the built-in browser of my s60s. I got fed up with both Opera Mini and UCWeb. Opera Mini mainly due to its stupid issues and Ucweb due to fonts, stability issues and not loading some pages, so a week ago i uninstalled them and decided to give Android browser a chance, so far its just excellent, i even got qid of Dolphin. Web pages are loaded quickly, and properly even on an EDGE connection, it handles multiple tabs brilliantly, i have around 3-5 open usualy and on large sites like DailyMobile, Mobile-Review, Androinica, GSMArena, HowardForums, The Register and also Esato which isnt too big, and it handles all of them very well even when they are all loaded in the tabs, its quite amazing ,its not perfect but its much closer to perfect than any other mobile browser ive across, wwwou will love it regardless of what Droid you get, and this is coming from 1.6, im now realy excited for its improvements in 2.1.

Yes Tsepz_GP, Android is definitely my first choice smartphone OS and I'm still getting an Android phone next. To be honest, I'm really getting impatient at the moment. I love the P1i but that feeling of I need something new to see what extra things I can do with the phone and OS is killing me. In time I will put the P1i back in its box when I upgrade the first contract (the one I used for the Bold upgrade) but until then it will be with me along with the current 'out of contract' upgrade.

I actually thought I had found my perfect phone to replace the P1i until Motorola decided that the Droid Pro was US only. At this stage I am waiting for SE's next big thing, doesn't matter if is full touch or QWERTY equipped like the P1i as long as it is well specced. I'm really not nto gaming, too old for that so the PSPhone is out of the equation.

@Tsepz_GP

Well, after using UCWeb for a while now I can safely say what I think of it.

I HATE IT!!

It tends to compress some sites for no reason thus making me open a lot of pages which is tiring and frustrating. I think you called it rough around yhe edges I prefer user unfriendly. I initially liked it but now I realise that I would rather be saddled with Opera 5.1's issues which I find less infuriating.

I'm glad you are finding Android's built-in browser that good cause I will be trying that out as soon as I upgrade.

Well the better half's K550 has been switching itself off intermittently over the past few months (it's lasted 3 or 4 years..), which has prompted me to get her an early Christmas pressie... yup, a X10 Mini. Carphone Warehouse is now selling them for just 149.95 (approx R1600) . Welcome to the Android Fold; yeah she's beaten me to it, LOL.

Lol, you actualy came to mind when i saw the Droid Pro, ye, sucks it's staying in the US, but the Droid2 is coming as the Milestone2 it seems: http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_milestone_2-3495.php
Ya, UCWeb can get irritating after quite a bit of useage, it seems there just isnt the "perfect" browser, but im sick of these proxy/server based browsers, the nice thing about them is that all the work/most of it is done on the server so they require less data and CPU cycles and so giving great battery life, the Android browser takes more juice but its so worth it as everything is done on the phone which at times can actualy mean faster page loading, a feature i like in this browser is how it Googles while you type in a web address, you find that you hardly ever finish typing the url as it finds it as you are typing, very nice.

Im getting SO impatient to, hopefuly SE lets us begin the weekend with 2.1.

LOL Tsepz, yeah the Nokia N8 is not as outlandishly priced as I thought it might be at launch; one of the largest supermarket chains here already has them for sale at 329.97 (approx R3500) on PAYG. Not too shabby, hey?:

@Tsepz_GP

Yeah, there just is no perfect mobile browser, is there? I love Firefox on my laptop followed by Chrome and am looking forward to trying the mobile Firefox to see how good it is. By the sounds of it the built-in Android browser is something I will enjoy, I don't really mind the battery usage as long as it performs the task well.

Eish, Motorola really pissed me off when they created that phone and decided that Dups! won't be getting his hands on it. I just couldn't believe my bad luck

@wanqs
Nice one for Mrs! The reviews of that little phone are very positive and I'm sure she'll enjoy it. If you decide on the N8 you'll be the only Symbian user on this thread

The green robot has taken over the SAMD thread and I'm next in line.

I hope you guys (Tsepz_GP and Hobbs) get your 2.1 soon cause this is frustrating when other manufacturers are talking 2.2. I know we tend to get impatient a lot of times with these things, not that SE has made things easier for us, but I'd rather have a phone that works near flawless than a buggy one. It seems Froyo is really buggy for Motorola and Samsung while HTC has pushed the upgrade back so maybe it is not such a bad thing that SE is taking its time on Eclair. Even the Galaxy S and Milestone weren't as smooth with Eclair, not too sure 'bout the Desire.
