Maybe that time you did not lock the back cover properly!! That happened to my arc once too. I have to give the top part a hard press to make it "click" (lock the phone cover) proper. |

Don't be daft I know how to put a battery cover on. The whole phone would creak & squeak when I held it with battery cover clicked on in every corner. Mine really was terrible. I am sure if I did have another one from somewhere else it may be ok.

I miss not having the integrated timescape widget on the main screen, with the Arc at present you can only have either FB, Twitter, Messages not a combination of both, which seems a little strange. I liked the X10 widget which basically showed everything (email, FB, messages, etc).
Lovely, cheers for that!
Agree on the calendar, X10 cal was much better than the stock cal now on the Arc.
Anyone know how to get the most visited webpages widget back? |

@Bonovox do you think you could love it's size and would you still love it as much when Neo comes out? I keep being tempted by the Arc, but after I read your description I decided to wait for the Neo. In the meantime I still love my W995. |

What version of Google Maps does the Arc come with? Isn't v.5+ supposed to come with offline caching?
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that equate to having the map data offline?

@xtacy
Google maps is updateable to the newest release version for that particular region through the market.
The offline caching is a relatively small amount as far as I can tell. It's not there so you can, for example, cache up the entire UK maps and be fine to go on your merry way. The caching is more for speed of loading of often visited areas of the map.
Also I can't find the setting to tell it how much to cache (my current map cache is 14MB).
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

@titus1 I can assure you it's not. Would you be happy with a poorly put together device for over £400?? I think not. Mine was bad after a day or so. In the past I have either had crap phones I don't like or bad faulty ones. Quite a few I have stuck with. But I am not paying a large amount of money for something that feels like a toy. A couple of owners of the Arc so far have thought on here the build was not great. I know it's not the vast majority but yes we might have had a bad batch. But please don't make it personal saying it's me. Would you accept a new car with a door that felt loose like the battery door on my Arc?? No.

@Ricky D,
So the cache would be enough say, for day to day travel in the same town/city? Or at least the most frequented routes?
