As Windows blogs say, looks like a very early build of WP7. So that may be the WP7 proto Badassmam was talking about.
But they still may work on this. I would be happy to buy SE WP7. I stayed with WP7, almost 3 months now.

I hope they don't ditch the arc slider design, I loved it on the X1. |

The Arc slider was a good and useful innovation and it would be a pity if it was ditched. Makes you wonder why they haven't introduced this on other phones. An Xperia Arc Pro featuring an arc slider anyone?

If designed as well as Arc that would be the best phone! Keep relative thinness, add front facing camera(for those that need it) and change SoC to dual core snapdragon(for those that long for dual core CPU on smartphone).
Maybe next year something like that will come with that new snapdragon at 28nm |

Interesting, maybe cancelled WP7 device considering recent comments by numerous Sony Ericsson employees, unless development was restarted when Nokia announced they were coming to the WP7 market (as this will surely increase WP7 sales)
Perfect form factor for X2 replacement
That's exactly what it is - a cancelled WP7 phone

...and because that phone is cancelled and hasn't ruled out stepping into the WP arena then no doubt other prototypes will be in development. So it would give us an idea 'at least' of how a WP7 would look.
Does anyone have a codename / project name for this device?

I have a feeling SE made this prototype (probably some time ago too) then ditched WM altogether, much like what Engadget said in their article on it.

With Nokia's interest in WM7 … makes you wonder how well SE could take this platform … maybe beyond what HTC could/has been.

I think one of the main reasons behind decision of delaying WP7 devices at least of the 1st half of the year is because WP7 nature of not being as customizable as want it to be, is very well known for customizing and adding their own touch in every OS, even Symbian S60 ( Satio & Vivaz for example )... but having WP7 with unified not customizable UI and MS insisting on this made in hard position as this mean they can only compete in two ways, design of the phone and hardware.. and because of strict and alien hardware decisions they won't compete in hardware too, making the physical design of the phone is the only thing can be proud... so they can't expect too much attention ( Arc has superior design but average high-end spec. and coz of the last.. sales can't be that much even thought it is the most beautiful phone.. Android or not ) and with the current position they can't spend that much effort on a platform they can't innovate that much with it... this is why it's postponed...
and with Nokia entering the WP7 market as their high-end phones OS, this will make entering this market a more difficult decision... but in the same time this will give more space in the Android market which is already very difficult seeing all these major players playing with it...
I don't see in WP7 market anytime soon looking to current position and the info we know/have about MS policy regarding WP7... and Nokia being here I think will make wait to see what Nokia is hiding and thinking... if MS didn't change it's policy it's very hard for to enter WP7... their whole marketing of any product is all about 's touch of UI and physical design... they can't do too much in hardware side duo to lake of R&D and other more powerful competitors.
BTW, I can't imagine how that cancelled ( or shelfed ) prototype will look if it was Android

If it were android, it would be out already...lol. I'd imagine se wouldnt expect big sales of a windows phone. Ms haven't shifted the buisness image they had when it comes to phones...se should sack windows and go android fulltime. |

@back2you - we though you're the insider and you should give us info, not asking us for such.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Can't find anything other than it was trademarked by Sony last year. It sounds like audio enhancement software.
