so you can rely on my tests -:) |

Well I have been reading this thread from the beginning and I don't think I have posted any comments.
So firstly only 10 days to 3GSM!
Secondly how soon after its announcement can we expect to see it in the shops?

I hope that the P5i doesn't use the K850i camera. It should use the 5.1 MP ‘Exmor’ sensor from SE japan phones W61s and SO905iCS.
it should have at least 1/3.2" Sony HAD CCD sensor. i don't like CMOS if SE could offer us CCD and in fact they did it already with the S700.

P1 was presented during april 2007 and W960 was presented during may 2007. P1 reached the market in the end of july 2007 while W960 reached the market in december 2007... Nokia N82 reached the market 2 weeks after it was pressreleased... There is no rule for how long time it takes for a phone to reach the market...But Im sure SE wanna release it as fast as possible....However nasty bugs that are discovered late in the development process can delay things...Watch AMD erratum...for their Phenom processors... |

@doministry, I'll look forward to your review, especially your impressions on daily use
The Garmin device looks interesting. We may be lucky enough to have a number of competing devices to chose from by the time P5 hits the market.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Neither do I. But I think its because there has been months of build up to it and it has always seemed so far away that we are not used to it being a few days away. Like it feels like its still far away from announcement. Perhaps there was just too much build up surrounding this one device.

But it will be certainly presented some time soon. |

It should be released a couple of months after announcement. Remember that the W960 was a bad example of that because the release had to be postponed due to bugs on it. If everything goes according to plan, a couple of months should do it. I think SE will release SOMETHING big at 3GSM, be it Paris, Beibei, Maria, whatever. Something higher end will come along. Remember that SE has a new man in charge now. |

With 172 pages and 2578 posts spanning back almost 3 months in just this thread alone, where there have been no proper pictures and not much in the way of 100% confirmed rumours, do you guys think this is probably the most anticipated SE phone so far?
It seems to me that it is, especially because recently there haven't been many high end SE phones to keep us busy, so we're all looking forward to the next big thing. Was there this much hype surrounding previous "big releases" such as the T610, S700i, K750i/W800i, P900i or anything?

The only thing close was the often delayed announcement of Sofia/K850i and that phone turned out to be not worth the hype for the most part (nothing innovates, just K800 with bigger camera, worse pic quality, HSDPA, and bugs).
I hope that SE pulls off announcing and launching the P5i and BeiBei in a timely manner with high quality, innovations, and little to no bugs HW and FW. Plus if they they have Triband HSDPA/QuadBand GSM on their new smartphones, this will be the first smartphone since the P910a almost 4 years ago that will work properly in North America. |
