Enable BT headset support in your MSI BT adapter

Guys, as with any workarounds, this could mess up your settings. Proceed with caution, and dont blame anyone for anything that happens to your setup.

Comments in gold are mine.

By the way, the instructions also works on W2K.

In regards to HSP support, it works now with either the MSI or the TDK 1.2.2.15 WidCOM BT stack..

The proper bt audio drivers already comes with said packages but one needs to install the drivers manually..

For the MSI Bluetooth 1.2.2.15 drivers..

Retrieve and unzip the "data1.zip" file then point XP's (or W2k)add new hardware wizard by going to

*Control Panel / Add Hardware / Yes, I have already connected the hardware / Add a new hardware device / Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) / Sound, video and game controllers / have disk then point it to where you unzipped the "data1.cab" file..

*It should show something like Bluetooth Audio Device, install.

Navigate to where you unzipped the "data1.cab" file, the right click on "headset.reg" <-- then click on merge..

Reboot and the HSP profile will now appear.
(619 caught this typo - changed "now" from the original text which used "not".)
Let us know how it works as I don't have a BT headset.

Warning! Do not install version 1.2.2.15 as this version does not allow multiple connections to the same device. Use version 1.2.2.4.

What about the USB Bluetooth dongle from Epox? I got it for $40 US from outpost.com. It works great too.

@691, you should be using version 1.2.2.4 and not anything earlier like 1.2.2.14 or 1.2.2.15. on an older version connect to the 2 serial ports and DUN of the T68i simultaneously... it won't allow you. you'll get get an RFCOMM error or something like that.

the statement i made that 1.2.2.4 is newer is wrong. 1.2.2.15 is the newer build. but my statement about 1.2.2.15 problem is still correct, as fas as i'm concerned. - arnoldc

@funks, 619, if i remember it right this is where i downloaded version 1.2.2.4, however, i do have it in my notebook if you need it. it is a 10MB file.

@funks, how is it newer? good question... 1.2.2.4 it's .msi (install file) is dated july 2002, while 1.2.2.15's .msi file is dated august 8, 2002, so if i consider the fourth decimal as the build number then by version control standards .15 is newer build than .4

however, i find 1.2.2.15 dissappointing because it won't allow me to connect to the T68's two serial ports (SPP) and DUN (simultaneously). in addition, its server component hangs twice on me already. i never experienced this on 1.2.2.4.

i was initially thinking that the version was 1.2.2.1.5, so 1.2.2.4 is newer, but it was not.

so 1.2.2.4 does support the headset profile all along.

so there you go... these were my observations.
