Just receive new SE model - they think that it is killer ) |

For those who have replied to my previous post. Have a look at much much older ones, and concepts that didn't get released and so on. I did say that there were exceptions and why this is usually the case
But from what I understand from what I was told, usually their intentions are to use the first letter of the code word. Untill someone online has leaked the code name, and then things change.
Why do you all think that "the only pic" of the T650 came from "that" video clip. And all sites were promptly told, not to mention the "t650" word again, nor show the picture. Then low and behold a few months later a K700i comes out looking exactly the same.
All I'm saying is think about it
Not saying I'm a know it all, and I work for SE, cause I don't on both accounts. Just passing my little 2cents

I see what you mean, but I don't really see why changing the name because of a leak would make any difference. What does the difference between K700i and T650 make to the buying customer at the end of the day? It's only a letter followed by 3 numbers (and a letter, depending on whether it's a chinese model or international). |

its easyer to make the link between a Txxx phone and the next one. instead of a new line.
not many people think that the K700 is the T610/T630 succesor, neither do i.
With Ericsson and Nokia gone: we must keep their spirits alive and buy JOLLA or YOTA |

I agree. The T6x0 were always marketed as 'business' phones, even though they were popular with youth, whereas the K700i was actively marketed as a youth phone. Maybe it was just SE waking up to the fact that they were aiming the T6x0 at the wrong segment. |

I fully agree with Memzee on what you said. Note that when SE's information leaked and people were rumoring about "T650" and specification, things pretty much changed. On K700i's market at that time, there wasn't any competitor to be putting high ends specs on it at the time and put it in a mid-end market. Now Nokia 6230 and Motorola E398 came out and things changed. K700i was pretty much an experiment-model to survey the mid-end markets. SE now knows the next T series would need more guts to put up high in the mid-end market along with S700i which in near future would likely drop down to meet the mid-end standards.
JMO I think the K series are more likely to watch the market for so SE could work on other series as a final product. Yes, you might say then why would they release as an experiment-model to a market? Technology had always been moving faster and faster everyday. By putting products on the line to test the market would give the company a look in the market and to predict future needs. After that final products would show up in time to meet demands of the product.
Why do you think K700i doesn't have Memory Expansion in the first place? Pretty much is because SE needs to know at the time is it a need factor? That's why 42 Mb is put in to find out about this region. or even EDGE? may be because SE wants to know if operators supports it or not at the time release. |

That's a very common missunderstanding.
Z1010 is the official name Viola got, not V800.
This is acctualy one of the few worknames SE officialy confessed. (Per Alksten at SEMC)
There were rumours about a successor of Z1010, called Viola. SE declared official that that wasn't the case, cause it was just the internal workname for Z1010.
Eldar seem to have a lot of internal SE knowledge, he can proberly confirm this for you.

I must say I like the design of this phone and knowing SE the materials used will be A1. It looks very business like. There are not many all black handsets around but many people agree the black S700a looks cool. |
