Haven't heard from Eamonn in a while! Maybe he's drunk too much Brown Ale in Newcastle or he just couldn't handle all the rain?

The crack is that there were several HLR (home location registers) that went tits up end of last week, start of this week...this meant that certain customers phones would not work cos the switch that their phones registered to didn't work....this happens all the time , but now and again there are a number of HLR's that break all at once, hence the blanket network disappearence.

OK the saga continues. Phoned Voda today about my broken phone and they told me that it was back and ready to be picked up. I asked if it was all OK and after checking they then told me it was damaged beyond repair due to liquid damage! I said liquid damage I only brought it in with a broken battery clip and now it's broken beyond repair!
They then phoned the SC who told them that it was covered under warranty and it had been sent back and not replaced as they had no proof of purchase. Apparantly the Voda store can't replace it - don't know why but they cant it has to be the SC?! I then faxed over a copy of my receipt, which I find VERY annoying as I had taken this in in the first place but they forgot to take a copy, and they have now had to send BACK my broken phone the the SC who will then replace it with a new (allegedly) T68i and then send it back to the Voda shop. This could take another 7-10 days! They then backtracked and said it probably wasn't water damage and it was a mistake with the receipt! I'm so confused!
What a joke! I work as a production planner and if I planned a job like this I wouldn't be working very long!
So we'll wait and see when I get the phone back and it better had be a new one! They assured me that it would but I just don't trust them anymore!
There is no way I am staying with Voda now after this. I also retract the one positive comment I said about them in this thread:

Anyway I'm chilled now! Got my V50 and memories of colour screens, GPRS, email clients etc are fading! Oh well I'm just kidding myself!

Hi,
I'm a bit late in joining, just read through all the posts, took a while!
I live in Londonderry, N. Ireland but to go to university (Imperial) in London.
I've just ordered a T68i as my upgrade (I'm on vodafone), they said it'll be delivered tomorrow, not holding my breath though!
Can't wait til I get it, it sounds like an amazing phone!
What version of software do u think it will have? R2B or R2E? If it has R2B does anyone know of where my nearest service centre in NI is? Is there one in Belfast? I'll be in Newcastle and Middlesbrough in a few weeks if anyone knows of any there?
I used to play counterstrike loads when I was in halls last year. All of our rooms where networked together and there would always be loads of people playing, it was great! I don't fancy playing it over a 56k modem though, it would be sooo slow!
I also have a PS2, which I think is a great console, before that I had an N64 which had some amazing games!
Good to have a UK page, keep up the good work!

Hi Simon nice to have you here! Hope you enjoy your T68i when you get it - it is a grat phone! I just hope you don't have to return it with a fault using Voda! (hehe I'm not bitter!) Not sure what sw it will have on but there's not too much difference and you can always upgrade if it isn't the latest.
I suggest you get a Gamecube as well as it soooo much better than the PS2 especially if you liked the N64!
