Would love it if I could put an older version of firmware on to mute the camera again. Do any of the customisation files on Totalserver mute the camera for the newer firmware ?
Now that would be worth doing - unbrand the vodafone stuff and change it to Chinese/English as long as I can mute the rotten camera !! |

I have read the guide and I know I need the following files:
K700_Decustomize_Firmware.k7s
K700_Firmware_for_EU_and_EMEA_Packs_125821_040804_0902_R2L001.k7s
K700_Lang_Pack_EU1_R2L001.k7l
I have a credit but when I click on the "Download Area" button the only files I can find pertain to R2AA003. There is no decustomization file listed at all.
I know I've probably missed something but what?

So there is a new version of TS 1.28 and things are changed a bit. No one really confirmed but there are 2 ways to do it now:
1. To keep all user data and keep T9 languages except English
2. To delete user data and loose all the T9 languages.
I am not sure about that, because still no info on http://www.totalserver.net. And I can not try it for now...

Now you can upload Language Packs (with T9 Dictionary Included) in your desired Language to your K700/K700i/F500i/K500 phones WITHOUT LOSE the User datas inside the customer phones... MMS, SMS, Phonebook, Ringtones, Pictures, etc...
When we released the Language Changing for K700/F500i/K700i/K500 phones we had 2 choices:
1.- KEEP USER DATA and not upload T9 Dictionaries (Except English that always was there)
2.- KILL USER DATA and Upload all T9 for the Language Pack languages.
We decided to KEEP User Data and non-English T9 losing option because If you lose USER DATA is not reversible anymore, but now you still be able to Upload the right Language and therefore you will have the right T9 dictionaries included in the Language Pack in these already flashed phones.
We didnt want to see the customers face after you at your service center removed all their USER DATA by Language Changing. But if at any time customer complaint about T9 missing in the new installed Language Pack you can contact us and you will be able to Upload T9 Dictionaries.
With other servers you lose USER DATA after DEFAULT Language Changing/Uploading, with TOTAL MultiServer all USER DATA will remain untouched after Language Changing.
We only uses DEFAULT Languages for Repair Phones. We dont charge this operation and therefore no credit will be deducted.

OK, thats me totally confused! Since the upgrade to 1.28 I don't know what I'm doing!
It looks like I can't upgrade to R2L anymore and do I no longer need to go through the decustomisation process before I start? I have a Vodafone customized fone with R2A041.
Can anyone help me out please? It seems like the the orginal guide that seemed so useful is no longer relevant? |

To remove customization:
1. Select DEFAULT page.
2. Select DEFAULT LANGUAGE FIRMWARE for your phone (that you downloaded from Download area... file extension *.K7D
3. Select FIRMWARE for your phone if the phone's firmwareversion differs from DEFAULT LANGUAGE VERSION...(Download area... file extension *.K7S)
With this method all user data will be cleare and you will end up with only English T9.

please confirm or correct if anything I say is wrong... You are much more experienced and I still didn't have a chance to try TS as only DSS...
Please can you clarify another thing:
If you decustomize your phone usin DEFAULT page, you loose user data and T9 languages, right? If you do the NORMAL page flash afterwards will you get back the T9 languages?

Due to the naughtyness (ie breaking your warranty agreement) of De-Branding your phone this way, if you wish to update it at your local  centre will they still do it?

You look like a pro  can you so tell me which files I finally need to Unbrand my voda branded (swisscom) and keep my t9 dictionnary *FRENCH* even if I m loosing my datas (sms, contacts and other...I've a backup) MAAAANY thanks |

It depends on your service center, but probably they would do it (for some money).

NO, NO, No Pro... Let's wait for analog to show up as I didn't have a chance to use TS yet. As far as I understand you are not able to DECUSTOMIZE your phone and keep T9 languages, but maybe if you after DECUST. make the regular flash it will work... Just wait a bit...

OK I want to decustomise my phone and end up with english language and it seems that most language files will allow this.
So I picked:
K700_R2AA003_ZONE_1 for the firmware and
K700_R2AA003_EU1 for the language.
With he phone switched OFF I clicked on 'Flash' and the appllication told me to 'Press on in the phone'. So I switched the phone on and nothing further happened.
Any ideas what might have caused this? Am I supposed to start with the phone turned on? |
