@frozenwaffles, assuming its the problem introduced in R2L where it makes the BT connection to the ipaq but doesn't dial out then that problem is already answered in the K700 Firmwares overview thread. You need to add a Z into the ipaq dialling string and then it works

I also had a few problems connecting with my notebook computer and PDA until I noticed that my bluetooth headset was still connected to the handset after the call was over--it simply stays connected until I navigated into the Bluetooth menu, and chose devices, and disconnected my headset manually.

Afterwards, both my notebook computer and PDA connected successfully to my K700i.

Hope this helps.

Just updated to R2L, has anyone else noticed that when playing a video, after a few seconds the backlight dims slightly? Also the menu seems slower than with R2A...

@Bliksem

Yeah, I've noticed a slow down in general from R2A to R2L. The menu, Inbox, names, etc etc are all notably slower. Also when I come out of standby, a blank white screen is shown for a quarter of a second or so. That never happened before either.

The LED timings and behaviour have been changed, apparently to save battery power.

I'm also not receiving delivery reports anymore, which is driving me nuts.

I've noticed the slight dimming, although it's usually when a key hasn't been pressed for a few seconds, the screen then fades out completely if no more keys are pressed.

I've noticed a slight slowdown in actually scrolling through menus, although I'm much happier with the way that it is now, as there is no 'pause' for a second or two whilst scrolling/typing etc. like there was with R2A.

Also, the GPRS implementation seems to be better. If I checked my emails then went online (e.g. to check esato ) or vice versa, I'd get a 'couldn't connect' error, and had to go and manually re-select my GPRS account or my email account and try again - I can now do both without any funny error messages.

hey. i'm new here. but i just bought a new k700i, and am not very happy now. you see, my phone is vodafone branded, and i had an 02 sim card. so here i was unlocking the phone in the market for it to be able to be used on 02. yeh, it worked and all that, but i was thinking it would get rid of all the vodafone crap off it aswell. then i heard that the only way to get rid of it is to update the firmware at the vodafone service. updating it also means that i get a better battery life, and to finally get mp3s as ringotnes!!!!!!!
anyway, i went there today, and they were like "yes we can do it for you, it is free under warrenty. we will do it for you." then i tell them it was on 02 at that moment, and they were like "hold on....... no i'm sorry, we cannot touch that phone. you modified the software without vodafones concent".

struggling to find out any alternative, i come here to ask anyone, if it is possible to flash a voda branded k700i even tho it is unlocked. i desperately want the original r2l firmware as it updates all bugs i have in my current one (r2a) and get rid of all voda's icons and menus.
is it possilbe to update on the sony erricson website if the phone was unlocked????? and will any store will be able to flash the phone for the new firmware even tho its unlocked?????? i really like his phone, dont get me worng, its jus that the current firmware lets it down . i hate vodafone. i really need to know how to reflash it even tho its unlocked!!!!!!!! sorry for the long life story. please help!!!

When I leave my phone for a while and when I press a button to use the phone again, I get this blank white screen for a second or two. Is this a problem with R2L or what? It never happened to my phone on R2A.

The best thing to do is read this thread http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=70831
and de-brand your k700 to original Sony Ericsson firmware, getting rid of the vodafone crap, you can then update it anytime you like using a dss-20 on the sony ericsson site for free.

R2AA003 is the latest firmware but it is not available to the public, the finished version of this firmware should be R2Yxxx but some people are saying R2AA will be the latest. I would just wait until someone confims this. So far R2L is the latest on the online update service.
