The E100 is what the Z1010 uses. And at the presentation of there 2 new phones the K700 had E100 interface built into it. As for the S700 i believe it will be similar but not in all areas. |

The S in S700 could stand for Symbian... well just wishful thinking I guess |

k700 and z1010 share the same interface, it's the e100. s700 will have another one, different, not sure if based on e100 or symbian uiq.

For your info. i did some reasearch. Do it yourself as well or just trust my word on these specs. Here it goes
· EGPRS Class 12
· Quad band, GPRS/EGPRS 850/900/1800/1900
· Adaptive MultiRate (AMR), GSM FR/EFR/HR
· RS232, IrDA, USB, Bluetooth
· Extensive Display Support
- Up to 65k colours
- 176x220
- Dual display
· E-OTD
· SMS, EMS, MMS support
· Multimedia support
- Camera and viewfinder support
- Stereo audio support
- Polyphonic ring tones (MIDI)
· Flash security mechanism
· SIM-AT
· Speech recognition
· Intelligent text input
· Battery fuel-gauging
· External memory card support
· Open API for applications including a Complete Development Environment
Like I said The Z1010 has all of these and the e100 interface. But i am having doubts because that list encludes "External Memory card support". |

E100 is one of the HW platforms from Ericsson Mobile Platforms, that is used e.g. by SE to build EDGE
phones. It has nothing to do with the SW user interface if that is what you are refering to.
Z1010 is most probably using U100 or U200 as platform (these are for UMTS). Not E100. You can
read more about it here:
http://www.3gamericas.org/pdfs/Ericsson-Bengtsson-031703.pdf
More info about each plattform can be found here.
http://www.ericsson.com/mobileplatforms/products/gprs/G200.shtml
Note, that not necessary all features provided by a platform may be available on phones based on them (some may be disabled).

Does SE even say what interface they are using. Until they tell us we can only guess, right?
As for what i said, seems like garbage to what the poster above me said! I guess i was wrong. 2 days till Cebit! lets hope they have the working model by then. Cant Wait! |

I believe the person who said the release date is too far away is right!!!
In fact this will not be a proper PDA-phone and will compete with another group of phones, some of which already are in stores...
Look at this phone for example:
http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/4616.html
Sonyericsson has to talk a little less and to release phones a little faster, otherwise they might never achieve the market share they would love to.
I am amazed at the phone on the link, and I think s700 could be a good competitor if it would have hit stores TODAY, not in a year time...
I am really critic towards sonyericsson, but in the last months they really take things slowly (almost Nokia style)...
By the way... I have actually seen and used this phone and it is indeed an amazing piece of technology.... Screen 256k, BT, SD card slot, MP3, 2 screens, 1Mpixel camera (picture and video).
The only two things I didn't like is Vodafone Live SW (256k colors and then a white/red SW in it??), although I don't yet know how well the SW works (bugs and so on), and the fact it is quite big (although smaller than P800).
I don't know if it is HTML capable, but with all the features it has, I expect it to be. And, if not, I think I could live with that....

Sony Ericsson S700 is coming at the beginning of Q3 and not Q4.
Those people who knows much about Sony Ericsson says it, so I just refer the preliminary release date to you. |

the video camera is actually VGA (640x480) while the photo cam is 1.3 mb, not 1 MB...cuz there's a diff'rence in quality.
