my my, this is just getting better and better! now who would've thought greece, of all countries (no disrespect there) to beat the french powerhouse? job well done to them. can we expect more of this to come?

@ceco: do I detect a tad of bitterness towards England there with regards to football? Not gloating at all, are we?!??!
I think people here do tend to overreact a lot about football because it's the national game, and we haven't won anything in it for a long time. I have to admit I find a lot of it does get a bit tedious after a while, and I'm getting sick of hearing words like 'gutted' and phrases like 'we wuz robbed'.
It seems that some supporters of other teams (e.g. Portugal, Greece) are almost, and in some ways less gracious in victory than some England fans are in defeat

@sammy, i'm on other forums were the english showed more decency accepting the result without bringing stupid excuses. Thus, in those places i didnt have the same attitude (sometimes arrogant). Here, and in twilightwap, after reading so much bull...., i decided to give them a taste of their own remedy;-)

@arez: I'm often embarrassed by other England fans - moaning about disallowed goals isn't going to get decisions reversed or change any results, so I don't know why people do it. And yes, I did see that Portugal goal - it did look like it crossed the line - although I'm not sure if the entire ball went over, not seen any replays of it recently!
Perhaps I'm a rather dispassionate person, but I say we should stop whining, and start preparing for Germany 2006! It's in the past now, it can't be changed, so let's get on with it We could start with lots of practice taking penalties.....
I've said this in some of the other various Euro 2004 threads, but well done to Greece, and I hope they go all the way and hopefully win the tournament! And I have no bad feelings towards the Portugese team or the nation iteslf.

It means most supporters to other countires severely dislike the mentality of certain england supporters I would say.

I think you have a serious attitude problem. Sad. It's senseles shouters like you in that post that manage to utterly and completely ruin the joy that some other, calmer people get from football games, no matter who wins.
Not a very sportive attitude at all, not a very nice spirit for the tournament.
