Last time they were still Sony ericsson . And big brother Sony does not want the sales to overtake PSP sales , as well as camera sales that's why they tried very hard to go all out but was met with setbacks and spanners. There's a xperia play 2 prototype somewhere but it was scrapped .. Sony ericsson tried...
I was hoping for T9 keypad to be back as well. |

The playstation division was adamant about supporting the Xperia play from the very start.
The Xperia play was released on March 2011 while the Vita was released on December 2011.
This was Sony ericsson's last attempt to save themselves from their demise but it also marked Sony's final Goodbye to Sony Ericsson; their partnership was simply not working with two divisions fighting head to head with each other.
With Sony having full direct control now with Xperia, I wonder if things will be different.
In all honesty, the switch really needs some competition.
A hybrid tablet-portable gaming machine is something nice but I am quite sure, they don't like the idea due to immediate threat from piracy especially from android devices.

no they won't.
besides the noise and electrical isolation that goes into the ZX and WM1 walkmans would not be possible on a cell phone, that would need to be thin.

Sony usually had a teaser for any mwc event/device in years prior, but they weren't there last year, so good chance Sony is not at this year's event either.
Sony could easily just have their own event with the new I V and 10 V, and perhaps some surprises as well.

At first I too though it was 1 V, but judging the last 2 years, the code XQ-xQxx has been 5 series. Hard to believe 5 would from 8GB jump to 12/16GB according to market. IMHO, the only difference between 1 and 5 should be size and screen like 2nd gen was. People want the whole stuff, just in smaller footprint, with 0 compromises.

If 1iv has 16GB for Asia, no way 1v has only 12 everywhere.
Probably same 12/256GB for USA/Europe/Japan/S.E.A, while 16/512 for China/HK/Taiwan.
Looks like 10 V has that same green of z3c.
