Hey there, I've just got Vivaz today and it's my first smartphone. Getting slowly used to the touchscreen, using the stylus helps alot.
Does anyone have any user tips for me, to make my Vivaz experience as good as possible - eg, good programs to download, themes etc.
Let's hope I have a good time using Vivaz

Well I got mine yesterday from carphone warehouse for £299 with 10% of my top ups over the last 18 month back. My previous phone was a W890 so this is taking some getting used to. Silly things like finding some of the settings (like changing the ring tone) and how to see the word choice in the predictive text (press star for those of you with the same question). I had to google the answers. I think my biggest critcism would be the instruction book is not very comprehensive. Like I said, it's silly things like when I first got it I wanted to put the battery and sim in but it wasn't clear from the diagram whether the back was just pulled off or you pressed a catch or what. I was a but nervous of forcing it off for obvious reasons (turns out you do just force it off).
When I did take the back off I did feel a little disapointed because it was quite plasticy but that isn't obvious when it's in place. When I thought about it though I realised that the curving does mean it would be plastic.
Having played with it for 24 hours I'm just about getting used to the way it works and I do like it. The sound through the speakers seems good and the camera is excellent.
I'm just a novice but this is a nice light phone with really good specs to be honnest my main complaint is the lack of smileys in the text messages ... although someone may come back and tell me how yet!

Got the Blue one from O2 and its gone back. Prefer my 2 Satio's.
The blue colour is actually quite nice. Didn't think it would be. Looks a similar colour to my S700 I modded a while ago.
Nothing different from the Satio and I would consider it a downgrade from what I already have IMO. Yes it doesn't have a proximity sensor like the Satio does. When you need to use the touch screen on a call you have to unlock it. No front camera for Video calling is no big deal. The feature is still there anyway.
To me theres nothing different in the Vivaz that I havent already got with the Satio which is my reason for returning it. If you already have the Satio and want to get the Vivaz expecting something new you maybe disappointed slightly.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

Hello all,
Just had an e-mail from the onestopphoneshop.co.uk offering the Vivaz on what seems like a pretty good deal with an Altec Lansing speaker bundled with it..

I am waiting for the X10 myself but can recommend Onestop as have used them in the past.. They are the on-line side of CPW. |

Hello,
Could someone post some HQ Vivaz photos.
Especially of the black, the blue, and the red Vivaz.
I'm considering of buying a Vivaz from one of the online shops but I have never seen the phone in the local shops here, not even a dummy version (the consequences of living in a backward place).
Can someone who has or have seen these phones tell if the coloured versions have the same metalic-mat effect as the silver Vivaz?

@Lunion
recommend All About Symbian as a good resource for S60 hints and tricks also check out the N97 forum area which has some software tips which will be helpful even on the Vivaz - unless you hack it you won't be able to install apps from Nokia's Ovi store and I haven't looked at SE's Play Now for some while but last time I did it was very bare but still have a look there check the other forums out at AAS - also check the forums at Mobile Review in the Nokia S60 forum there there's another long thread with free software on it. there is a fair ammount of stuff available outside of Nokia for Symbian speaking of which go have a look at the Symbian Foundation site they also have a link through to apps (Horizon I think it's called)
Good luck with your new handset |

Here in Spain the first exclusive units are beginning to appear, and I have found 2 in sikver (only colour available) for about 320e each, simfree,unlocked...
Tehya are tenpting me, to be honest. If the X10 is about 500e , no radio, lots bigger..I do not know what to do.
I have sold my samsung jet (lovely) and am keeping my iphone for media use at home and my red w995 for everyday use.
Only if the music sound was good! I would buy a Vivaz for everyday use and enjoy that big screen when surfing from work., and when communting

The sound is good, you can download an equalizer from play now (free) so you can get the sound you want. This phone is just amazing... |
