@ Mizzle -- Thanks so much for the video and the pics. I love the huge screen and yes, this will be my next phone after W980.

To Mizzle

Thanks for uploading the video

I have a couple of questions

Are there a few features missing?

Can the flash light stay all the time on while using the (video)camera?

The camera sound, can it be turn off?

Up to how many stations can the W995 support?

Is the viberation strong enough and the ringtone loud?

The volume buttons are hard to press?

Peace and thanks for your help

1. Yes, there are features missing in the latest firmware. The prototypes I'm using are running a firmware newer than Eldar's prototypes, which seemingly have everything working.

2. Yes, the light can stay on.

3. Yes, you can turn off the camera sound by switching to silent mode.

4. 20 FM stations (if that's what you meant)

5. Yes, vibration is strong and the ringtones are more than loud enough

6. No, they're quite weak. There's hardly any tactile feedback in the top row and the bottom is quite weak as well. The remaining keys are OK. I really hope they'll fix this in the retail versions.

Do you know what features are missing? at a guess i presume walkman 4.0 is missing? Im hoping we see a few more changes to the UI to make it less copy and paste

Thanks

No, I don't believe it supports Flash Lite 3.

Indeed, Capuchin is based on J2ME API's and Flash Lite 2.0. I'm seriously HOPING this'll change VERY soon - SE needs to up the anti with Flash Lite 3.1 (many sites like Tube are quickly encoded using Flashplayer 10). I'm predicting that Symbian Foundation Platform based Idou - when it comes to final production release will use Flash Lite 3.1.

Can you imagine the joyful interfaces that SE phones will have then??

Yeh, speaking of project Capuchin; what actual enhancements have we seen in SE devices because of this programmer tool? I can't think of anything besides slightly nicer menus for random minor apps. But how about using it for the main interface?

According to Mizzle and the images available so far, the image quality is as good as C905. The flash is not so powerful though. You can check images taken with W995 in the esato image gallery posted by Mizzle and also at Mobile-Review. I had posted a link to W995's preview few pages back which contains lots of pics taken with the cam.

Regarding the price in the Indian market, as per Mizzle it will be significantly lower than C905, which means it will be around Rs 25,000. The C905 launched at Rs 30,000.

Unsure myself really. I'd like to see more applications using it - but I'm beginning to think that MusicPlayer 3 or even menu transitions to other applications is based on it.

Coders usually are not used to mixing J2ME+Flash together but it shouldn't be difficult with tools and their great experience. They just need compelling hardware like the W995 for it, I guess.

Can anyone enlighten us as to how SE & other coders use Capuchin and in which apps or functions, please?

Just have a quick question to Mizzle

Can between the glass of the display and the camera easily get dust?

There's no dust on the one I'm using.

Hopefully the lesson has been learnt from the W902 which has a small canyon around the screen.
