there has been some luck in unlocking AU phones with GSM support (only those with GSM support, having GlobalPassport does not mean that they must have GSM support, they may just roam CDMA), but nobody has managed to get the SMS working, you will only be able to dial in and out, but can neither send nor receive messages
how is it unlocked: with *-SIM or with software? |

Wow thats one nice phone. I would say in about 3 years we might see such things in the west. I also love the CD thing. I am seriously way to lazy to extract and send as i have a slow computer and it takes about 5-6 hours for 1 CD. Imagine that and the fact that i have 10 plus CDs in my whole collection. |

I checked the specifications and max MicroSD is 2GB... it isn't MicroSD HC. |

I'll consider you a genius if you can simply flash the phone.
Dude, no one can figure out a software unlock for the older generation 905i phones... because of the complicated encryptions. It's not as easy as one may think. I wouldn't have to type a huge blob of information on the first post if it was that easy...
Then, yeah you have to figure out how to get these phones. You can't simply travel to Japan and buy a phone from a store as you need Japanese Identification. |

one more question- does all phones from 905i serie have only mobile internet not GPRS, but i-mode? |
clauf Joined: Jun 17, 2007 Posts: > 500 PM |
mhm. mobile internet doesn't work with any other phone anyway since you can't access the network settings in docomo phones. |

clauf, I am surprised that T001 is a FURUCHEN KEITAI (full change phone). I thought furuchen was Sony Ericsson's idea. re looks much more captivating than that Toshiba, though.
Btw, have W61S and W62S been discontinued already?
from my observations, sometimes it's better off not knowing. |

i-mode is the brand name of NTT DoCoMo's portal (just like vodafone Live! for vodafone ot planet3 for 3UK). those 905i phones use WCDMA/UMTS, but like clauf said you have no access to the network settings, so there is no chance you can get online without a proper NTT sim card and valid contract.
the WxxS phones have been discontinued, the lifespan of phones is really short in Japan, that's why tech is moving fast cuz people are willing to switch phones >1x/year (back in the days of 505i the average cycle was only 6-9months@, now it's about a year) |

that's what we've been repeating, there is no internet setting accessible
even if you have a docomo card, you need a valid and active contract/account to get online, and you can only get online on the NTT DoCoMo network or roaming partners, and you must roam once you are outside of Japan, the partners will not recognize your card as local. |
