Actually I would really like SE to get back to its glory days of the P900.
Unfortunately, for the past 2 years SE has not improved on the basic P990 design, all the later UIQ3 phones have more or less the same hardware and software. In fact, it has probably regressed as they didn't have to be bothered with the FC mode of the P990. In fact, ever since the P910, SE has not been able to come up with any cutting-edge device, they have spent their credit and at this point you need to look at other companies if you want new innovative technology.
For it to be successful, the P5 needs to have a new hw & sw design. If they base it on the current UIQ3 models, the problems will just propagate to P5 and it will be the same story all over again.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

not necessarily, but they do need to address the HSDPA issue, and make UIQ a bit more efficient or increase the hardware spec.

Something of significance:
P990: Today I can buy about 10 2nd hand P990s for the price I paid for mine 1.5 years ago.
N95: Today I can buy 2.5 2nd hand N95s for the price of N95 if I had bought one 1.5 years ago.
So, the P990 depreciated in price 4 times more than the Nokia N95 which was hardly problem free itself when announced.

indeed, se sels very bad, some sjops here are full with tons of new and second hand se fones, really not much interest for those, if yes, then only for the wm series. nokia sells very good, doesnt matter if old or not, a 6310 and 6310i can be sold still for 100 euro ( sometimes even for more if new ) for the same price or less u can buy k750 ( these are shop prices, NOT private sales )
