@jowow
Do you mean the phones theme itself or the walkman skin?
If you just mean the phones theme, it is under tools> control panel> device> Themes.

i think he means custom themes
in which case you would need some photos and a theme creator - or there are downloadable sites such as mobile9 who have themes for many of the phones around today.

o2 have plenty of phones in stock - they just greedy and some of the staff keep them for themselves - especially the supervisors and above(i know this used to work in one)
also they have sneeky looks as to how your contract is run and if its worth giving you the latest phones - but i guess most companies are like that now *sigh* ive had my moan.
but my input is this - o2 have plenty of the w950 and the sirocco. i got a sirocco for my business phone upgrade and the w950 for personal - you just gotta kick up a big enough fuss really

Hi,
My music files are organized in the walkman by title name, and not by artist name, as I like. Is there a way to configure it?
Also, the problem with some mp3 files continues: some songs (not completely sure, but I think it's mainly older files) start playing and by some obscure reason the w950i stop playing them and skips to the next one.
I tried formatting the memory and it didn't work, the only thing that seems to work is to download the music again (thus having a more recent mp3 file for the same song).
Has anyone had the same problem?
Cheers,
Ricardo

My W950 with about 1GB of music works fine on all tracks. I did format it before adding any music. I always use the File Transfer option and connect to the USB port not a hub. Have AAC and MP3 files, all ripped from CDs.

Hi!
the only problem I am having with my music is that when I sometimes save music to the phone, it creates two album art pictures even though they are the same.
For example, I saved a John Lennon album and there are two album art pictures in my tiled list.
One album has only 1 track, and the other album has all of the rest!

that could be that the artist name is slightly different!
i.e. instead of john lennon it may display as john lennon:plastic ono band
this can sometimes lead to the software creating two folders one for each artist!!

hi,
Thanks for your help. It has probably got to do with the mp3 files themselves, but still, it's strange how every other crappy mp3 player that i owned played them and the w950i doesn't. :'-(
Any hint on the organization of music files (my 1st question from the previous post)?
Cheers,

I think the only way around that mate is to go into artists as appose to albums!

I've just ordered one of these from 02. Has anyone got any suggestions on getting a screen protector? I've heard good things about Martin Fields but they're much more expensive than some of the ones going on eBay.

I'm using a Clarivue screen protector on my W950i and it's great. I'm very happy with it and would buy from them again for sure.
You get 2 screen protectors for $10 USD and they fit perfectly (non-adhesive, washable, and reusable). You even get a cloth to keep the screen clean.

@all for their replies to o2 stock:
I just rang them again (with the: "can i have my PAC code..."), and they still saying they dont have stock till the 11th, however, i haggled for new contract deal, but i dont think i'm able to collect instore as i'm on those discount tariffs (500mins, 500 text), and they cant do it instore??? Was quoted a price of £189 at first... 2nd call should bring it down to £100, and 3rd to FREE hopefully
Will give them a call a little later; anyone know the "best" (free handset) deal on the w950i at the moment? |

@OfficeMaven
Cheers for that, but I'm in the UK so time and cost wise it's probably best to look in the UK
@T68iKING
I've got 500mins, 500 texts for £20 pcm with O2 retentions, and rang today to order the w950i after being told last week they were out stock. There seems to be some confusion as to what I'm entitled to, as once I was told it cost £100, then it was free. I mentioned this to the lady today and she said they now had them in stock and would said one out. I didn't want to confirm it was for free, just in case she said it wasn't, as if she said nothing then they can't/shouldn't be able to charge me.
Anyway, I think there's a chance she may have ordered the w850i as that's what I originally negotiated for free, so I'm waiting to see what comes to my door. I'll post on here with the results of what I receive as soon as it arrives. |

I got mine with an upgrade from Voda, £60 on a £25 a month/18 ,onth contract.
The phone is pretty good(so far) no issues installing on pc and transfering.
It is taking a bit of getting used to though, I had a P900 a couple of years ago and it's a "bit" similar so the learning curve isn't too steep.
I don't think voda touched the software too much, the splash screen at startup/ shutdown is all I can make out at this point, only seen a few pics of the unbranded phone so can't say for sure.
Overall well pleased with the phone, and I would also like to say that the walkman has the samee if not better sound than my 5G 30gig ipod.
Cheers,
