Completely appreciate what you're saying. On the flip side and putting my business head on I have to say that some of the highest revenue generating customers are those that don't use the network - instead just paying their monthly fee (I'm one of them!).
I think we'd all be surprised how many customers go on to supply but don't toll on a monthly basis even on the £45 a month tariffs.

Edit: Just had a call from my 'friend' (in senior O2 office, not giving her name I'm afraid). It seems they haven't even had the stock in at O2 online but they know they're coming which is why they're taking orders. It's showing deprovisioning failed because they can't attach and IMEI to the order in the system. This will change once the items come in. If you have an order number apparently you will get one as they know how many they're getting and therefore can sell.
She did confirm there is a little bit of 'preferred customer' treatment going on too - but that stands to reason for upgrades.

That makes sense actually.
i rung up again this morning and asked why i had got an email saying it was out of stock. Woman i spoke to said it was showing in stock to her... i guess its because they havent actually got the phone like you explained.... but know how many they are definately getting and so they as of 9am this morning they still havent sold that inital allocation.
did you friend give any indication as to when the delivery might materialise in the O2 warehouse??

I upgraded yesterday about 5pm and I have the new order in the tracking area, but "in stock" is NOT ticked! |

If you ordered it off the website then it might not appear on the web tracker. Give them a call and check its status.

Just off the phoen to O2, the guy said they were taking orders yesterday, those orders are being processed today and that there was a slim chance delivery would be tomorrow but a high chance it would be monday. He also said that they definetly do have the phones now. |

heres my convoluted story.
Started a contract with o2 at the start of the month with an e900. Long story short the phone is faulty and phoned them tues night to organise replacement, they told me they had the K800I "in front of them" and that i could have this as replacement but should ring tomorrow as if i upgraded to online 200 the repalcement would be free as opposed to £50. (the tariff change has to be actioned overnight)
Did this as agreed and phoned them back. was halfway thru arranged the Doorstep swap! as they call it and got cut off (my fault) and had to ring back. This time the person i spoke to said she doesnt think the K800I is available. I told her of the coversations i had and she checked with the supervisor and came back saying it would cost £50. the tariff change hadnt taken effect til my next billing date when the £50 would be refunded. I settled for this and got confirmed the phone would arrive via parcel line the next day (meaning today)
I appreciate its still early but no sign yet and these posts got me concerned so rang them again.
Got somoene (english not his strong point) and asked to clarify what was happening and would i get the phone today ? He said yes, is it an E900 i was waiting for. I corrected him and said that is the phone im returning. He said sorry yeah you are waiting for the K750I.
Again i said no and he apologised and said i meant the K800I. I queried why he stated K750I and was told " it was just something that came out of my mouth" (Exact quote) and that the K800 will DEFINATELY (another quote be delivered today.
I am willing to bet a considerable amount of money that im waiting all day. im tempted to order next day delivery from three as a precatuion to get the phone for the weekend!
I will keep you posted as the hours tick by

Sounds like they're messing you around doesn't it?! It's a shame really, as o2 have been pretty good with me. It just seems that someone is mis-informaing employees as to what to say to it's customers who want the k800. Either a) some are unaware that it's even out b) some are telling lies and trying to secure upgrades and new customers by saying the k800 is in stock when it isn't or c) some employees have been told the k800 actually IS in stock. Either way, it's bad! |

Contrary to my rather negative post earlier, e2save have now emailed and texted me to say that my phone has been dispatched by Special Delivery to arrive before 1pm tomorrow. I will let you know when it arrives. |

My sim card came in the package (Citilink pack) but it isn't a 3G one.
I ordered about 6pm last night. |
