The keypad IS small and fiddly.. One sometimes press the wrong key. That is also true with regards to the softkeys, due to the large gap between the softkeys and the screen (it differs quite much between the K800 and K750).
The screen is, however, gorgeous...

Yes, I fully agree. That's why the sharp 902 and 3 slipped my mind - optical zoom would be nice but I can wait.

902 isn't exactly a small low power consuming phone (part of the reason is probably the mechanical optical zoom, but it takes great pictures no doubt). Even K800 is pushing the limit in that deparment as well. ANd part of the
I think people in the west are more concerned about size, looks and power consumption that they are in the east (there features seem to matter more).
Basically, mecanical optical zoom I don't believe in as good solution for mobile phones. Liquid optics on the other hand is another story. Don't know how well they work, but they seem to have left the labs and are ready for the mobile market. Varioptic's introduced their solution at 3GSM this year back in February.

The K750 uses liquid optics for the auto-focus (but not zoom )
Edit: oops, no it doesn't. It uses a lense that sits in a liquid bed, and the liquid bed adjusts the lense distance from the cmos. The liquid optics lense is where the lense is actually shaped from the liquid itself(varioptic). Amazing !
On size, K800 is much the same size as a K750, which is plenty small enough. My definition was meant in comparison to P990 sized handsets.

Ok guys 11th June is when the phone i coming out. Heres a quote from mobile-review who always get the phones first for review.
The sales of K800 will start in June, meanwhile K790 should go for sale in the beginning of July. The price will be around 350-400 euros depending on the country. The model will become a mass product, and it is already manufactured, so there will be no deficit when the sales will start. |

Anyone know whether we can use the front camera for photos or video?
I wont be making any video calls so it would be a waste of space if I cant take photos with it. |

I was thinking the same thing. And then i thought, i dont really make video calls so i dont need 3g. And before you question the fast downloads remember that any content cant be shared with you rmates via bluetooth ect...If theres a clip i really want on my phone id rather come to this forum and share through here so realy i wont need the k800 so ill get the k790.
And im sure the k790 would last longer batery wise aswel as it would be running of a gsm network not a 3g one. |

I don't know if the front camera can be used for other things than video calls, but even if it was possible why would anyone want to use the poor front camera (SQCIF & QCIF quality only) for photos (even if you don't use video calls) when you have a great camera in the back ?

yeah good point. For me 3g isnt important yet. Id much rather have things like improved battery life, improved mp3 playing and video playback before i thinkof 3g. |
