I am hoping a side slide out QWERTY version makes it out. I don't want to see a vertical slide keyboard ala the HTC Touch Dual. Having a side slide out like the TYTN and Sony Mylo would make web surfing and document editing more desktop like. |

do you know/are you allowed to say which form factors they are (or give hints)?
same here. Side slide or no slide at all. I hope skyfire for UIQ will be out by then. Of course, Opera 9 may just be awesome enough anyway XD
Also, I really hope the chosen form factor is not a flip phone. Do not like flip phones. That includes the wierd flippy growth to be found on the poor mutated P990.

I understand, of course. Thanks very much anyway. But I maintain. The three form factors should be front slider, side slider or candybar. Hopefully no flip or swivel or anything horrible. Remember SE: this should be a mobile powerhouse not another fashion accessory. I would be astonished if they used that duel slide idea for it >D |

Not Only QuadBand GSM but Triband HSDPA just like all the other newer phones to come out (K850i, Z750i, W760).
Well, naturally, this is best, but I can do without 3G if I have to. But considering three "dumbphones" have gotten triband HSDPA, it would be silly for the P5i not to have it.
Also, my city is supposed to get HSDPA soon...so the P5i would be the perfect phone to test it on.
I hope it's stacked.

How about they release 2 high end P series with same specs with different form factor??Market them together...like in same ad campaign etc...
I want to see a flip and maybe a side slider..flip for me
IMO,Slider is so HTCish..big black screen is iPhonish/psp...and dual slider is UMPC kindof...
I hope the SE testers are doing a good job and not make the customers the beta testers

Man theyre not going to invent a new form factor just so that in some people's eyes they havent 'copied' another handset. Besides. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY would you want this to be a tacky flip phone???? |

Some people prefer flip phones. Not me but some do. Most smartphones are candybar, slider types. Very few flip phones, some people are waiting for a good Smartphone flip like the N93 was. |

I know, but its trivial. I just dont see why theyd prefer it. The only thing it offers is screen protection. But usually every time you snap it closed the phone gets rattled a lil bit inside and everything has to be lower tech because the phone is basically made in two halves. Screens tend to be smaller because of this, and this also means the phone overall will probably be thicker because so many components would have to be flattened a bit to fit. The razr is probably the thinnest contender we will se for a while. Thing is, you said smart phone. As soon as its a smart phone, when you have to add GPS parts, better camera functions, a touchscreen which is well protected, maybe room for a stylus, all the internal workings for the added HSDPA, the WLAN transducers etc, it will end up bulky like the N95. Dont get me wrong, it IS possible (eg the Tytn II is quite small when you consider all this- and it basically separates into to halves anyway). Thing is, phones such as the N93, its not that its a bad idea, its great if youre shooting video all day long, but for the rest of us, it doesnt seem practical to me. |

A version with very few buttons would be nice again. I miss the simplicity of the P800 to P910 with the flip removed. |

I just noticed: The Japanese mobiles released recently by SE also have 3x OPTICAL zoom >D |

We'll also have 3x optical zoom by the end of this this year
First SE decided not to incorporate optical zoom into upcoming devices...but
thank god they changed their minds
The next phone which will have the optical zoom will be the K850i successor having its market debut in November this year. |

I was hoping the P5i would have it. I see no reason why Paris, Beibei, or any other upcoming models cant have optical zoom if SE are already using it. They have the technology, so why wait. It would benefit us and increase their share of the market. |

Business users dont need optical zoom, as a matter of fact some companies ban employees from using camera phones. |
