Aya you have to understand this is a Nigerian thing, we always want to be associated with the most sophisticated. Whether or not such sophistication is practicable does not matter. Lets watch and see what mtel & mtn have up their sleeves. Thanks 4 the advice on the phones. You too Brix

I just met AYA about 30 minutes ago and it was illuminating.
Some of you guys may know, I have been wondering about the compatibility of glodirect with my phone. Needless to say, glo customer care had sworn it was an impossibility, getting glodirect to work on my p910. The great AYA sorted it and much more in a very enjoyable meeting.
I am fully online, the only thing I can't do is send and receive faxes and that is cause the phone wasn't built for it.
Guys help me say thanks to our own guru.

If and when you have the time, you may want to take another trip to the GloWorld where you were told your P910i wouldnt work with their network.
Let's say its just to make a point and check out the looks on their faces when you tell them they lied like dogs
Maybe Mike Adenuga will give me a contract to train his guys

Aya don't just say "maybe" approach their H.R dept. This episode has exposed that they aren't as competent as they ought to be. Only God knows how many people they've turned away with the excuse that the P910i isn't a PDA. |

@gilasam: Welcome to Esato! About your request for js, are you talking about on your phone? If so, what phone do you use?
@amby: I beg, give me Mike or Paddy's number or email. Or anyone you know at Glo. I'll love to have my share of the GSM windfall.

Ha ha ha, Aya I'm a businessman. If I had access to Mr. Adenuga, rest assured I'll get the contract for myself and then sub-contract it to you;-)

How many years do you think this thread will last before someone finally decides to close it?

It will stay open as long as we keep posting. The UK and Indian guys are on Part 2 of their threads, and the Slovak thread is running over 50,000 threads.
The thing about regional threads is that members may discuss anything under the sun as pertaining to their countries. If we keep within the forum regulations, the thread stays open.

I have a theory: the Nigerians posted here regularly while GloMobile offered FREE GPRS. If you noticed, things began to get quiet here around November/December last year. That was when the regular folks disappeared, coinciding with the end of the free GPRS browsing bonanza.
In my opinion, showing up here once or twice a week on the current GPRS tariffs is not too much. But Nigerians...

Does anyone know at least one person who uses GPRS on the Mtel and Vmobile networks?
I haven't met or heard of one yet; but I sure would love to.

I agree fewer people post here but I am not sure its because of the cost of GPRS rather, it may be that there is little by the way of content to stimulate debate. I could be wrong but I would suppose that most people checkin from pc's in cybercafes and offices.
So how do we stimulate debate?
I am fairly sure that glo is the only service that offers GPRS.
We may have more people posting when GPRS becomes available on other networks and people tryout the service.
I wouldn't be be suprised if lots of people check in but dont post here as there's little to talk about.
So chaps, controversial topics?
