I'm curious if you can set it to update during idle too, if it would improve performance and speed of timescape.

Surely that would massively impact on battery life? It would mean that "idle" never really was idle, since it would be constantly polling one or more social networks. I'd imagine just having Timescape live the rest of the time will have some impact there.

Stunning! I love the way they manipulate the app icon in 1:47 too - very responsive!

It seems to get better and better.

From what I remember both versions of the x10 have 256 main and 128 for graphics. Altho I could be wrong.

Possible, the end of March is the end of Q1 so it should be shipping by then.

We should start a thread for places on the internet where the X10 is available and at what price.

There have been lot of talk about the mutitouch capabilities on the X10, wether is does have the HW to use this feature, well:
Just out of curiosity we installed the free third-party Dolphin web browser on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10.

Feature wise, it adds tabs on top of the page for easy switching between multiple pages. Gestures are enabled too, including the lauded pinch zoom.

Sorry for this bad news haters.

Taken from GSMarena browser shootout.

omg? thats the best news Ive heard in a while!! YES

edit. wait... it does also say: "The two-finger pinch zoom is the trendiest zooming method. It’s very natural, the only problem is the virtually impossible one hand operation. As far as current technology goes, you need a capacitive screen for this one, but also software support in the browser (and the OS in general). Mobile Safari, the webOS browser and Opera Mobile 9.7 on HTC HD2 have this kind of zoom control. The Android browser on HTC Hero (ver 1.5) and Motorola MILESTONE (ver 2.0) do too, but Sony Ericsson X10 (ver 1.6) doesn’t."

And it clearly says in the beginning that Dolphin was running on the x10... hmm, have a bad feeling about this, maybe it was a typo

@motvikt

What they mean is that the other phone's default browsers have this feature while X10's default browser does not and requires a third party browser like Dolphin instead.

From the way I read the GSM Arena review:- The native 1.6 browser does not support the pinch zoom, see page 3; However Dolphin does add this functionality, regardless of Android OS.

I did post somehting along these lines earlier in the thread, featuring a link to a site which was praising Dolphin. Right now I cannot remember which page it was on..

However overall I am still very hopeful that Dolphin will ad this functionality, whilst many of the other features of the later Android OS are covered by UX.

So I am definitely looking forward to the release of this phone. i jut wish it was sooner, and cheaper, but hey I guess we know that we normally pay a premium for this sort of thing in the UK...

here's a comparison chart from gsmarena: http://pic.gsmarena.com/vv/re[....]otout/camera/browser-chart.gif - Unfortunately no pinch-to-zoom on X10
Unofficial SonyEricssonClub.pl
T10 -> T65 -> T310 -> T610 -> T630 -> K700 -> P910 -> P990 -> P1i -> Xperia X1 + C702 -> Xperia X10 mini + Xperia X10!!!
What can I say... I'm maniac!!
