@SE Man
I know the feeling..
The UK division of AVG antivirus has it's head offices in my town, I've been bugging them for a job for the past two years but they won't give in
Thing is, I don't really like being self employed and I'd rather work for a large company with a good reputation doing something that I find interesting, like programming or malware analysis. Unfortunately, AVG don't seem to agree with me
I don't think I'm clever enough for them

I think i would be a right person for working at even they ring me or send me sms if they want something. I had to put up a secure email line for my friend in SE on his new P1i

My problem is that I only have qualifications in mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering subjects, not specifically in IT. I started programming in BASIC at the age of 8 and 6502 assembler code at the age of 10. I had a computer game published commercially for the Acorn Electron at age 13 (It was a port of the game 'Thrust' if anyone remembers it:lol:) and have learned several languages to a proficient level ever since.
But that means nothing nowadays. Most employers prefer a bit of paper from some shoddy profit-motivated college suggesting that you can do something rather than hard evidence that shows that you actually can
