You can lock apps in Android itself.

Go to settings, to the specific app and hit "disable" or at least force close it.
Disabling it means it's totally disabled until you reenable it.

Afaik, stamina mode settings allow u to Whitelist apps and it switches data off when you switch Off the screen. But does it stop other services? It might stop them when the screen is Off, but what about when it's on? for eg, I don't want viber to run after am done with it but it still lingers in the background. Force close it and it restarts.

Don'tworry its not a fault. I have figured out how stamina mode works in this respect. What Stamina mode does is it analyzes your usage pattern and depending on that, it estimates the standby time it could provide.
For eg: When I used to play games for hours and use the phone extensively, those days stamina mode would show 13 hours with stamina mode on. But when I used the Phone momoderately, with a few calls, messages, regular usage..the standby time now shows 1 day and 14 hours. So basically, the standby time depends on ur usage pattern. It estimates it based on past usage data.

If you haven't noticed, Viber does have an exit button in its menu (although it seems a bit buggy). |

If you read the reviews of applock on google store, everybody has complaint about the battery drain.
Try to find another app for locking apps.
@randomuser when you say you don't need such apps, how can you lock apps through Android XZ OS?
What about this....

I'm not really waiting for 4.2 but just for the camera improvements with superior auto is what I'm waiting for.
@doministry that's how you disable apps but not lock them. By locking I mean app protected by password.
@Karun Viber seems to have bug. write a complaint if you use the app often

Ok. I wouldn't have even thought about locking apps, lol.
So sorry.
Anyway my Z is from TMobile apparently and I'm angry.
I mean I will probably get rid of/sell it it since those branded phones don't get updates in time.
F...!!!!!
And the difference in price between the free market and the new one from Sony is significant..!!!

Unofficial Z sales numbers are in. Till date 4.6 million Z shipped.
Not bad at all.
Would be good if Sony issue a press statement when Z sales hit 5 million mark, which should happen in the next few days. |

How is it compared to S3 & iPhone 5?
It's been a month XZ in the market. Can we have info of 1 month sale of S3 & iPhone 5?

Iphone 5 sold 5 million + in 7 days. GS3 must have sold at least 12 million in first month.
So it's still far less than those but a big win for Sony. No other Sony/Sony Ericsson phone has enjoyed this much success |

It's a great phone in fact.
That's why I'm so annoyed I have a branded one.
