I'm beginning to feel - must resist this negative feeling - that the hype before the release of the P990i is beginning to equal that of the Sidekick III of Tmobile USA. After 2 weeks of its release so many ppl are unhappy (those that are upgrading from the SK I/II) and returning their SKIII for a full refund. I just hope this isnt the case with the P990i.

Just a followup on mobile-gadget security, they've now fixed the checkout encryption and it's all secure now.

Doubt it will be anything like the Sidekick.
The sidekick is essentially a toy for teenagers pushed by the likes of MTV... not really comparable to a P990i, m600i Nokia N93, Blackberry, etc., which are professional devices

The well known Czech online mobile magazine has recently displayed some new photos of the P990i. As has been mentioned in the past, the area at the base of the flip that had the "Quickshare" logo, now clearly says "P990i". Additionally there is a shot of the battery compartment where the words "made in France" are clearly visible.
Other points to note are the "QWERTZ" keyboard for the Czech market. Well it really looks like things are starting to happen this week. I suppose that when we all have this phone, the next big question will be "flip on or flip off"?

I noticed that besides Made in France, the label also states 06W29 which would indicate that it left the factory this week (Week 29 2006).

Correction, its of course 06W26. Thats end of june / start of july.

That is the newer revised CDS-60 design (with the flap to support heavier phones). I am using one with my M600i. |

Asked RCS Computer Experience today (really neat gadget place in New York).

They said they have been calling their contact 2-3 times a week and that they are very confident that they should have the phone this or next week. And just to remind, that's in New York, so looks very hopeful for you Europe guys.. Also keeping in mind the 06W26 comment above! Looking good. |

@ ivc; sorry correction we're in week 29 so somehow those crazy Czech's got their connections sorted 3 weeks ago!
So full production run must already been started and when shipping begins in the mass lot then we'll have an official annoucement from SE or just as shops get their lots.

Just to let you guys know, on another forum a guy in the UK has got some P990's, he specialises in getting phones early for people who want to pay LOTS of £££££££. So they can't be far of release.
Now if I can just win the lottery and buy a P990, W950, K800, K610.... |
