@* my view naman as a consumer regarding defective or buggy cellfones or even promised and/or advertised features which was not at first available but was thereafter fullfilled like with what we just had, the MMS upgrade.... is this,
we buy a brand new in the box cellphone. first few days it works fine. after a few more days ayan na, nagrereset or reboot, ayaw mag caller id, roboty like or distorted tx audio, week signal atbp. Then we complain these to the authorized service center. DAPAT lang ayusin nila kagad or replace diba! Palpak yun fone eh!!! At ang nakakainis pa jan is its an expensive fone, ofcourse we expect they fix it or else sira sila sa atin (pero dito wala ako masabi with Smartnet coz ang bilis ng service nila most specially with higher end models like the T39s and T68s. Just don't know with SE's entry level fones like the 2618s or 2628s hmm )

At dapat lang FOC as in FREE OF CHARGE diba! Sus minsan wala pang one month (or week) problematic na. and whether or not may warranty or wala or purchased sa timbukto or kung saan pa dapat libre pa rin dba, sus produkto nila yan and we paid big bucks pa, if palpak, ayusin nila for free (that is if within 1-yr warranty period pa hehe)!!!

In fairness to more than likely they adviced Smartnet to be very efficient, lenient and accomodating with after sales service concerns of consumers like us (dapat lang!) kaya am sure unanimous ang pagkahappy natin with their service! My brother in law for one had a defective T68m. Mga 2weeks old lang. He called and complained. adviced him to go to Smartnet. On the spot Smartnet replaced his unit. Ang tuwa talaga nya sa bilis ng replacement! Ako naman used to have a buggy R520. Brought the unit to Smartnet. Wala sila 520 for replacement. They gave me a brand new T39

Baka naman yun nagtataray sa Smartnet eh may problema lang yun repair ng unit nya coz of spare parts unavailability kaya nadedelay the repair kaya siguro na hi-blad?? Dalas kasi ganyan lang ang problema eh.

One thing about firmware upgrades... not sure if Smartnet does this pero mas oks siguro SOP ang service allignment of the RF section right after an upgrade. I have experienced this with Nokias because I used to have an 8310 which had bad rx sensitivity and over modulated tx deviation. After a re-flash of the SAME firmware ver and re-tuning and re-calibration of the RF section, oks na oks na!

yun lang po...

maybe that's the problem... smartnet readily gives us a replacement.. kaya SE dont like smartnet.

unlike semicon... kahit defective ang unit, they will tell you that "the problem is you" and not the celphone. {maybe this makes SE happy, semicon will try to repair kahit di kaya i-fix}

last feb, i got a unit that doesnt want to full charge, i asked my frnd to bring it to semicon marcos highway, took them 1 WEEK to "repair" but when i got it back, still wont charge (the service report says "upgraded and charging OK") then i called semicon up, they just gave me a run around, good thing i discovered Esato and these "masters" told me to go to SMARTNET instead, they said smartnet gives better service- they diagnosed it in 1 afternoon and found out it really doesnt want to "full charge" and they replace it w/ a new unit.

now whos better? u be the judge and jury

but i guess semicon has improved... after 3months, but still....

re: SE PH- cant say anything, coz i dont deal w/ them.
re: semicon- read my post again (above). dont wanna deal w/ them
again, for now. rckwl store is better than megamall
re: smartnet- no need to say more... except no coffee or juice at their
center. hehe j/k

One thing I noticed about the upgraded T68 is that it takes it a longer time to catch a gprs signal in places where the signal is fluctuating. Good thing my t39 reacts faster and I just re-start my upgraded t68 to recognize gprs right away... faster this way than waiting. Could this be a bug? I see a lot of forumers complaing in the guise of intermittent gprs signals... try re-starting your phones.
