Just browsing the net rather than tidying my bedroom and thinking i need a new laptop. The drive on my macbook pro has got a dip in it just like what happened with my powerbook and there is no warranty so will have to get a new one as any media i put in will get stuck. Knew i should have taken out apple care.
I'm not going to get a macbook pro though think you get more value by getting a macbook instead. GRR so mad about it but maybe it is time to upgrade with the new OS coming in October, just so annoyed as i am poor at the moment. Got my holiday in August and then another trip to go on, how annoying.
Anybody have any idea how much i would get for mine at all without getting it fixed, i'm sure it could be done if someone is willing to open it i'm just not wanting to take the risk? It is 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, 512MB 667 MHz RAM, 80 GB HD, 15.4 inch. I was going to upgrade the RAM to 2GB myself but don't see the point if i'm going to sell it.
What is everyone else up to today then?

can't you still buy apple care wifey??
I was told you could?
i rdckon if you take it to bits you'll fix it no issues at all.. it's jsut if you've got the balls or not...
done me some housework today..
moving in 2 weeks and then 2 weeks again after that!
how annoying!?

Only if you buy it within the first year i think it is, oh well i do need a new one just won't get a macbook pro again. I swear i don't even lean on it so don't know why it has happened all of a sudden. How much do you think i could get for it? Don't mind adding a few hundred on top of what i get for a new one, a macbook would be easier for uni as they are smaller.
Housework how fun, how come you have to move twice then that is rather odd? Oh and are you still going to come to that concert in November? I can't wait, all i need to see now is snow patrol and the killers and i can die happy lol. The weather is so rubbish, best be hot in Turkey.

of course I'm coming to manc in november.. time is booked off any everything..
as for moving..
well I'm getting kicked out of here on the 28th but the idiots that are selling my new proper house can't move yet, so I'm moving into a brand new house for 2 weeks...
GRRR...
and yeah you have to buy apple care within a year.. (I'm outside that too now! FFS)
I'll email my chap and see what he says!
as what you will get.. you should be almost able to do a straight swap for a mac book..
if i get me some pennies I might buy it off you.. I reckon it's a dead dead easy fix...

I just had a look and the macbook would be £1,149 for the model i want which ain't too bad and is with applecare too. I paid £1,400 for mine when it was released so i won't get anywhere near that but if i only have to pay a few hundred on top for a macbook i'll sell it asap if anyone is interested.
A brand new house that ain't too bad, just a pain having to move twice really, will be worth it though, your own place all to yourself. Nice one, will have to get a new digital camera for the concert mine is buggered, quick fancy the DSC-W200 has good zoom and 12MP. Quite tempted to take mine apart an have a look.
