I am %100 sure that the Z5 will come with SD820. If it is not ready by then they'll showcase it in september and release it in november-december. Z5 with sd810 is a false rumor. |

The thing is Sony isn't yet ready to give up on its 6 month refresh cycle. At least not until next year. So the Xperia 'Z5' will be followed by the Xperia Z6 by 1H 2016.
As far as the Z5 is concerned, the Snapdragon 810 chipset will probably one of the only few things it will share in common with the Z3+. The rest of the stuff will be different. |

We all know the reason for Sony to name Z4 to Z3+ in Europe.
The internal change wasn't monumental enough to carry the name of the true successor.
Only Japanese people can accept that name with very few changes.
I can't in my mind imagine that Sony would go from Z3+ to Z5 in Europe with the same SoC.
If they announce the Z5 with Snapdragon 820 and release later when the that SoC is available, then it wouldn't be bad.

@ramu
Is it an improved sd 810 or the same as z3 plus? Please say improved. I hope they will use sd 811 like what they did with 801. Sd 801 wasn't formally announced so I hope the same goes to 811

^ At least it's improved I hope they won't be overheating/throttling issues with the new sd 810 and the performance increases. It's not a problem for sony to use 810 because z5 uses 1080p screen so no issues on not using 820 |

@penguino
1. I disagree, it is not likely to be another weakness, the cpu should be improved, and anyway, it is not going to make or break the device.
2. Nobody knows for sure if there will be devices with s820 on the market in november. as of now, there are only rumors.

This is very bad indeed... the point is Sony knows they need to go for profit.. and doing these decisions is not profitable.. the phone will be just like any other phone... it won't be a high-end...
Just release it in Nov. or Dec. and leave the next one till mid-year... mid year is a good time for a yearly flaggy I think...

Is it oled? The new one produced by JDI? |

I don't have any info on the panel vendor but I believe it should be from JDI. No OLED though. |

aww that's a bummer. How about OIS? AFAIK, Sony skipped OIS because they believe that 2-axis OIS is not that effective. Well, nokia is out of the picture now so they could implement 3-axis ois or Microsoft got the license?

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.
