A lot of people on XDA are saying that it is the worst camera they have had on the phone and there's problems with blurring and lots and lots of noise, not good.

You know 99% of the pictures I see are much better than anything my iphone5 could possible shoot, so I am wondering those people saying its the worst camera they ever had, what camera phone did they have before? |

My opinion is that, due to the hype, Sony's heritage in imagery in the general consumer's mind, and finally lack of knowledge with photography. With those three combination people expect god like performance with the Z1. |

The hype is Sonys fault with advertising boards in the UK saying the Worlds best camera in a waterproof smartphone.
Sony makes false claims and really it's false advertising and shouldn't be allowed unless they can back up those claims. |

Very gimmicky and clever but sneaky marketing when you put it that way as the fact there's hardly any waterproof phones means its very easy to be the "BEST waterproof smartphone". |

@northmonkey - the claim is true. just cause you don't pick up the nuance, doesn't mean it's their fault. it's called MARKETING.
same reason why both AT&T AND VERIZON say they have the fastest LTE in the country.. it depends how you measure "fastest".
same reason why apple can claim all the things it claims and we all sit here and scratch our heads thinking.. "wtf.. i've had that 5 years ago".
you should read ieducateyou's post on the previous page again.. 
@iEducateYou - nice little list. it's true.. i'm pretty sure anyone reading your list had a few pop into their mind right away haha..
@MNX - yah that right side focus CU mentioned is a great test. give that a go. it sucks you're having to deal with this issue at all.

Valid point. It's the perception which changes as well.
Now people demand real camera quality pics from phones.
But this SW has to be fixed, I also demand Z1 to be top notch.
P.S.
I just watched my shots made by X1.
And I must say it had amazing camera even in todays standards.
I still have it.

Z1 will launch in Canada in mid October! W00T! Glad to see they're releasing it on multiple carriers too. Interested to see what the price will be to upgrade via Rogers:

Also glad all the colours will be available, but not every carrier will have all the colours though. It would be cool if Canadian carriers offered freebies like people in other countries were getting like free QX10 camera lenses or Smart Watch 2, but I doubt we'd see that happen here.

^i posted that earlier  though not the xperiablog post.
i doubt they'll give anything as enticing as the QX10 or smartwatch, but ya never know! based on Sony's track record in north america, they don't tend to give anything too great if anything at all.
hopefully this means the freebie stuff on xperia privilege will be available for north americans at the same time
@monkeypantz has your estimated delivery change from N/A yet? i was told by the fedex customs rep this morning that everything was good to go and it was going over to US Customs for clearance and that it should be delivered tomorrow (thursday).. but mine still says N/A with the clearance delay.. i was hoping it would have changed to approved or "arrived at depot" or something.

well i would hope so.. it is 6 months older.
Z1 is simply a beast of power. with updates to the camera and other things, it will be even more ahead of the pack. i would say it's only disadvantages would be it's sheer size and not perfect 180 degree viewing angles.. but those are both fairly subjective points.
can't wait for mine!
EDIT: i just read phonearena's conclusion.. ha. they just mention that it's got better tech inside, but that it should since it's 6 months older.. doesn't sound like they feel like Z1 is a clear winner. they don't even recommend it as an upgrade.. and note that the S4 held it's own just fine..
comments on these phone reviews always crack me up. it really shows how clueless the majority of users are out there.. heh

Can't wait! As soon as it's available I'm going to either a Sony or Rogers store to check it out. Considering it's selling with so many carriers I have to imagine we'll see it in retail stores like Best Buy and Future Shop too. |

@vivftp - no doubt. when it is available here in the US, i will head to the sony store and compare screens. if the screens are vastly different, i will demand warranty replacement. and by vastly, i mean night and day. if it's just a very slight difference, i won't care. that's just the nature of the beast. things like that will never be EXACTLY the same.. pixel to pixel..
EDIT: HOORAY!!! MY Z1 is CLEARED! It'll be here in the morning.. now, if i could just win the lottery.. life would be complete.
