@dheeraj
It was showing that 202.56.240.5 & 202.56.240.6 are located at Mumbai. Anyways, I still find 202.56.250.5 is the fastest among them.
b/w what speed you are getting with 202.56.230.5?
I'm getting 5.5kBps speed with 202.56.250.5

yaar it has nothing to do with speed as it just resolve the domain name and nothing else. |

Dude, but I see some speed differences while changing the DNS servers.
Anyways -in MO, 202.56.230.5 is active but when it comes to Airtel live connection, the same is inactive.
Now I have 2 questions!!
1) Why 202.56.230.5 has been enabled in the APN airtelfun.com even though it is non responsive?
2) We all know that Airtel has found a 100% effective way to block this trick(The DEMO was shown by Airtel in Last June & just 2 days ago). Then why are they re-enabling this trick? I think this might be their business trick. What do you say?

Dude, things are definitely not looking good at d moment. Airtel has blocked d trick again. Its high time someone starts the work from where spartan had left. Now my only means of internet is just nop on my mobile . By d way, the mobile office apn is routed to a network which is isolated from the Airtel live network and they both dont have any common hop points. And currently they have enabled dns access to nop also which was not there previously. Nop and Airtel live are on d same network though.. As of now, i am just thinkin of buyin a sim from another state and get mo on it.

Yes. This is the WARNING BELL to all free GPRS users.
This trick will going to have an end very soon.
So we have to search for an alternative.
1) For free MO tricks, we need luck. Otherwise it willn't work. Dheeraj, plz guide us on this aspect.
2) Getting sim from other state which has cheap MO rates. eg:Kerala, West Bengal. I don't know about Mumbai and Delhi circles. South Indian's can get cards from Kerala very easily. Anyways, your luck is also needed to get free access on MO.
3) Opting for BSNL trick.
@jingboyx
Is this trick working with NOP?
Anyways, we have to wait and see bcoz Airtel would not like to loose their customers(free GPRS customers)

Dude, they have upgraded their proxy server. Now it can detect client. If it detects that the client is PC(connection dialled using *99***1#), it doesn't give ne response. But it gives response to Mobile clients.
Airtel is now allset to block this trick.
Anyways, I have a hope. Maybe airtel has blocked this trick to reduce traffic on AirtelLive server(due to festive season). They may re-enable it after 2 or 3 days. So don't loose any hope guys. This is not a new thing. Think +ve.

AlanDS: there is nothing like that. i just checked it with ethereal. when u request any site using mobile it send 8 byte request to airtel server but when u send web request to airte via pc web browser it send 128-256 byte of request now airtel is not responding to request more than certain limit.
u can easily configure this on linux based server. |

If its possible to send lower byte requests through linux, can u plz guide us how to do? It would help us a lot. We should try to convert Airtel's new technology into a failure. |
