Ok guys heres an intresting one for use, My girlfriend has now been with o2 for 11 months and shes aloud to upgrade her phone!
So today she ran up to get here upgrade before xmas, and she asked for the w800i and she was told she wasn't allowed to upgrade to that phone! and that its only for new customers or business!
So i'm wondering what to do? I just took out a new contract with o2 on friday and i'm thinking of canceling mines aswell as my gfs, but before i do so i want to know if its standard practice for o2 to refuse a customer certain handsets?

Phone up the customer service number on your bill and ask for PAC number. When they ask why you want it, tell them that you can get a W800i free if you take out a new contract on another network. They quite often say they will give you the phone free as an upgrade.

I asked to speak to the manager in store, and he seemed confident to begin with, but as soon as i mentioned that i'd go, and i could get a brand new w800i for around the same price, he backed down and gave me an extra 100 texts a month ontop of my contract.

well I called O2 to ask for my free upgrade (12 months was up). I had a k700i and the tight gits offered me another k700i.
Straight away i asked for cancellations department spoke t someone there and they came back with:
Free k750i (my choice)
500txts
150minutes
1mb datatransfer
All for £14 a month.
It really does pay to barter with phone companies it seems. |

My O2 contract comes up in January.Cant see any phone better than the K750i that i already have.Need top keep an eye on the cost and like the 300 text for £10 a month top up on PAYG.Can my contract SIM be switched to this or do i have to use one of the free SIMs and lose my original number ? |

i think u'll be able to keep your old number. If you can keep your old number when changing to a completely new network i dont see why they wouldnt let you keep it when just changing to PAYG. Call them and ask. |

When I first saw this thread last year I was so envious as I was halfway through a 12 month contract paying £30 pm for 200 xnetwork and 50 texts.
My 12 months officially ended on Dec 20 so I waited until today to ring O2 to see what deal I could get.
I rang the 0800 028 8151 number and asked for my PAC number. I was asked why by the nice girl and I said I'd done 12 months now with O2 but that '3' and Vodaphone were bombarding me with offers. She asked what they were and I lied and said '3' had offered me a W800i foc with 500 xnetwork minutes and 400 texts. She asked me if I'd be interested in staying with O2 if they could match that. I said yes and she put me on hold while she went to ask her manager.
Several minutes later she returned and said I could have the W800i for free though it should have been £39.99 on upgrade so result. She asked if I would use 500 minutes and I said yes and she said it should be £25.00 pm but that I could have them for half price for the year so only £12.50 so result. Then she asked if I would use the texts, again I said yes and she said it would be £3 to bolt those on, which I agreed to, bringing the total monthly bill to £15.50.
She said I couldn't upgrade for 12 months and I said that was fine and I finished off by saying that I looked forward to telling '3' where to go with their offers when they next rang me. They have never rung me, hehe.
The W800i will be ordered today and couriered to me in the next 3 to 5 days and my tariff will be altered to the new one within 48 hours.
I am such a happy bunny.
I cheekily asked about the W900i but she said they were out of stock and she didn't have any prices available so I left it at that.
A big thank you to the original poster - m8cky. |

The black version of the W900i has been around for weeks now on O2. A simple google search pulls up many deals.
Maybe you mean the white version of this phone |
