Thanks.
I don't know about that. Sure tourism would be affected but I think now it'll be pretty safe, of course tourists might not like the number of police they'll see around. I also feel a little sorry for the people that'll be arrested as not all of them will be guilty. |

Thanks for you sympathy. You seem like a pretty compassionate person.

Nope, changed my mind, the k750 is off my list know. My next phone will be a smart phone, but NOT Symbian, unless se comes out with something extraordinary that'll make me change my mind. |

@ mahora I'd wait to see UIQ3 first. I think windows is better for arabic. But if uiq3 supports arabic it'll be the best. You are keeping you're K700 for a while though?

With terror your only truly safe by hiding in your home. I wouldn't let fear paralyze me, we're all going to die one way or the other. Actually the only countries that can feel really safe are the likes of Palau and its likes, they're too small for anyone to care about them, in adition to the fact terrorist aren't usually well educated on world geography and probably don't know they exist. So you could go on your next vacation to Tuvalu, you'd be safe there
@mahora
Or you are thinking of palm OS? I really hope UIQ 3 supports arabic. Either way I'm saving up for a smartphone myself. I can't gurantee if it will be my next phone, though.

UIQ 3 is not just good enough. And now that MS is putting its heavy weight to the mobile business, so I think I'll choose the vogue of the future.

I've always wanted something with a touch screen. I still don't know what I would prefer, more gadgets or less. I'd like a Palm LifeDrive but then you can't get palm products in Egypt. That's mainly want a Smartphone. The imate jam is nice but if SE Can make something the same size I'll obvousely go for it if it has arabic somehow. My main problem is money. So either way I go I still can't decide as it would be useless. Its just the same as saying I'm going to buy a Porche Carrera GT2 but then by the time I can actually afford it it will be long gone and there would most likely be a GT3 or even 4. I've sometimes thought of getting a P800, but 4096 colors isn't enough after seeing 65K. Just to be clear I'll stay as faraway as possible from a MS solution if there is another alternative |

Only blind fools can afford to ignore to see where things are going. And since you don't seem to be one one of them (for now ), I think you're only temporarily blinded by your hormones

Condolences to our Egyptian friends (4 Turks died...)
We will continue to go Egypt. There is no registry-cancellattion to Egypt. God damn terrorists show our religion to the world badly.
It s clear for Islam;
"On that account: We ordained for the Children of Israel that if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people"
(Quran 5:32)
regards.

Thanks Clearday.
Now mahora, do you really think a world heading for MS dominance in every device possible is the best? MS still insist that blue be the default for every OS ,yuck. Competition is always better than monopoly. And now were stuck with MS stupid naming scemes. Now really MS couldn't think of anything better than vista. XP was a nice name and now we get something, um, silly? Weak? Well at least sound terrible. |

Thanks Clearday for your sympathy. We - all humanity not just Egyptians- will prevail over this plague.

My point is simple. Imagine a sumo wrestler fighting against our olympic gold medalist Karam Gaber. What would the outcome be? Obvious of course.
Competition is good of course, yet competition for MS had a lot of time to show their strenghth. And they didn't. MS didn't come out of nowhere you know. It had so long a time to prove it was the best, and the result was the dominanace that you're complaining abou. Don't blame the best for being the best, instead ask his opponents why did't they give him hell before he proved it. At least not well enough. And the outcome? MS dominates the world to the point of saturation (90% market share), and now MS is turning to the mobile business.
You know what else adds to the power of MS? It's lead by one of the very few individual visionaries left in this world. Do you know that when Gates founded MS he was almost your age? and that he dropped out of college to do it?
MS has been on top for a long time now, and it has managed to stay on top, which is by far harder, for even a much longer time. And this is not likely to change soon, in the near future, or in the distant future.
Dominance in itself is bad, yet in MS's case it's not that bad

And you don't even have to worry monopoly that much, coz there are those who are working on it, and even ripped MS apart a couple of years ago on monopoly law suits.
But still you're right about those stupid names of renewed MS versions of products. Take Hotmail LongHorn for example. Why did they have to choose a native American name? Are they turning nationalistic all of a sudden? or do they want to develop their own tradition, like the USAF, where they have this tradidion of naming evey new military chopper after a red indian tribe?
Well may be a slump will do both MS and the competition some good |
