@squink: about the sms-replying. If some1 writes u sms from the internet anbd the site sends it with the actual phone number(in Romania u can do that), then u have no clue that it was sent from the net BUT u can't reply to it (not the same sms-centre and probably some other tech problems). This has happened to me many times with my t610 and of course, it works if u delete the contact and add it again...i don't think it's a bug.

How can we put the birthday of our friends in K700i? I can`t do that, but on my Nokia 6100 that I had before there was an option of birthay.
Is there any application to do that? |

Yeah I experienced a lag as well. I guess a firmware update can solve a problem.

someone from another forum had sent an email to sony ericsson holland to 'complain' about the battery.

anybody charged it 20 times already? |

""@text message problem
Did you have the phone in your pocket with the key lock turned offas if you press your joystick left then in 4 times it will send a blank message to the first person in your book, and as it is a landline they will all fail to send and be saved in the draft messages.""
No, my phone was charging overnight, still switched on, when it happened. Only thing I can think of is that Orange must have done a sim update during the night because I got 2 blank text messages at 2.30 a.m.[thanks for waking me up Orange!!] presumably to change my account details as I was changing to a different tariff. The text messages didn't say "sim update" as they have on my other phones but it's all I can think of.
I can only think it happened then, as the messages had appeared in my drafts box the next morning. Perhaps I can't blame SE for this one after all! |

The problem is with almost all the handsets ever made. They all claim NiMh and Lion are better in the case of memory flaws and various battery issues, but for getting most from your battery just dont recharge your cell without letting the battery go dead. Do it 4 to 5 times you ll notice the difference (happened for me with k700, shd work for you as well).
I don remember where i saw it but orang3 has posted complete thing on battery care.
go here
Battery Care
And yea, I also found it quite wierd... you cant keep any recurrent remiders like bdays, anniv!! How can we rem everything (
Plsss, someone post a link to new application or something for that matters!!
As an alternate, I am relying on yahoo! reminders which keep emailing things on my cell.

@techster @ zemeireles:
Recurrent reminders are missing and are very useful but T6x0 and K700 have one thing that fights that: Outlook sync!
I have every reminders in Outlook and itīs very easy to change dates, sync, everything! In 5 minutes you edit everything and with my K700i and USB BT I sync 410 contacts + 56 dates + 4 notes in few seconds!
And I can backup everything in a file... that life quality
===============================================
About battery... ("good handling" => FULL recharge after FULL discharge)
NiCd => High memory effect (even with good handling!) and in 8-18 months must be substituted (quality dependent). Energy is not evently distributed. Heavy
NiMh => Medium memory effect. With daily good handling last long! (about 12-24 monts). About 20% lighter than NiCd.
Li-ion => Low (or very low) memory effect, good handling needed only 4 times / month. If a Li-ion battery have high memory effect, do "good handling" about 10-12 times and itīll return to about 90%. Last about 24-36 months or more. About 2x/3x lighter than NiCd
Li-Pol => Highly similar to Li-ion BUT almost no memory effect, about 2.5x/4x lighter than NiCd and EXCELENT energy distribution. Good handling needed 1-2 times/month and also last 24-36 months or more like Li-ion.
LI-POL Problem: Li-ion in low temperature stop working but when temperature go up they run again. Li-Pol in not so lower temperatures freeze and hardly work again.

I have had the phone since 19 th of june, so up to 20 charges some left. I think the battery time is quite lousy, but so is it also in my SX1.

Not valid for me. I'm on a portable computer running LINUX, and I am therefore not able to use Outlook.
So it is no excuse for not having the option to add recurrent items in the calendar.

hello everybody
i have just bought my K700i today, and what an amazing little phone it is..
just blew me away at it's size and sleek looks..
any way, on to my question
i have not turned the phone on yet, just put it on the charger, but the light won't turn off (the light for the screen and keypad).. is this a software problem?
or what exactly?
sorry if this has been asked before..
thanks

Allright..!
I finally get SE to replace my Z 600 with the new K 700i...Only had it since last evening..Man call it obsession or call it love..K 700 is my second GF..
Allright..I checked out a few things like mentioned earlier..The 2 key and the 3 key are essentially loose..But only if you twiddle them out..Not much of a problem..Camera is great..Defenitely better than Nokia 6600..
The Video is good but shows a few glitches..like when u play a low quality video on the PC and u get some sqaurey patches..Like that..Is this common..
Yes the first time you charge the phone does not switch off the display lights and key lights..Its better to switch on the phone and set lights to automatic this way they turned off..Okay see the phone had like around red bar when I got it and used it for 1 Hr all included talktime/stand-by/games etc..Then it switched off when the battery finished..I came home and place it to charge and it completes the charging in 2 Hrs..Is that Normal..BTW K 700i in India is being sold with the BST-30 Li-On 700 Mh battery...
I'm going to the market now to purchase an Ir-da Port for transferring MP3's to the phone..What do you all suggest Ir-da or Blue-tooth Dongle,,Ir-Da is like Rs.600 ( $ 13.3 USD) or Blue-Tooth - Rs 1250 ( $ 27.7 USD)...
Thank you SE for creating the K 700i Thank you...

the problems with my k700i is
1. disappearing phone contacts
2. bluetooth freeze
3. phone light sometimes didnt go off even in settings i have set it to power safe mode
4. keypad sometimes doesnt autolock even in settings have been set to autolock on
5. ringing volume is ok if i use mp3. but kinda soft if its midi. very soft in fact compared to my t630
6. and like every1 else battery dont last too long. but its getting better once i swap to a non-animated theme.
any1 have idea when will be the first firmware be available?
cause these problems r kinda annoying because i m afraid of losing important contacts and currently i have to use the provided handfree instead of my hbh-65! |
