OK! A flash! That's a pretty normal issue when u have this phone and u spend that money on it.That's a loudspeaker all right or the speaker for the mp3s and rings and all the audible things on the phone.Maybe a small mic inside for the video recs.
The video camera has a VGA resolution (stated in the announcement) - i've seen a 7secs clip and the quality is awesome. It's here, somewhere in fist pages , as a link.Too bad it has 1,2MB for just 7 seconds WITHOUT sound.

I saw the clip as well, but i am a bit confused.
How can the clip be made if there isnt even a working model of it?!

That is something to hopefully look foward to. It would be great for the possible shoppers and consumers visiting there area and actually see it in action. If any one from Esato is going to CeBit, be sure to bring a camera just incase you want to record the phone in action..

i guess the clip was really done with a SO505i, but proberply there is no big difference between the S700 and SO505i in terms of pic quality
btw: do you think that S700 is going to get also a success in europe, it already was a success in japan - but you know - japan people are gadget freaks, most of the european aren't gadget freaks, they want a cool design and something that covers their needs ... and i guess that there are many who wouldn't even think about to buy a S700 - i personnaly would like to know how many S700 se wants to sell

well it all depends of the market status in q4, if they would have put it out now, then it would have been a sucess....

I love the S700 (and the K700) - the biggest issue with S700 I think, is the release date. Dec/Jan - is to far away - nobody knows what other phones will be presented by then. Had they released it today it would have been a hughe succes - but a year from now ? dont think so - propably to many other options by then to gain the same succes.

i agree...i reckon people will get fed up of waiting and buy something like a Z1010 or a Sendo X if it's released any time soon.

Neonode seems to be vaporware.

Anyways what i think needs to be done is an earlier release. They also state a revolutionary product in the beginning of 2005. If its the same thing as this (high end phone but not like the p series) then i will go for that. I wish i knew whats so revolutionary about it. i want this phone so bad

hey people, have you thought that the s700 could wear a smartphone os? in particular, a symbian 7 uiq for non touchscreen devices. why not? if is not going to wear the same interface platform as the k700/z1010 (since the firmware of s700 is less than two weeks old), it would be wise of SE to make this technically capable phone a proper smartphone. this article http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/68/36232.html does mention this possibility: "The UIQ team gave Sony Ericsson more reasons to be cheerful at Cannes, announcing a one-handed UIQ user interface that will compete for developers with Series 60". if this hypothethical OS goes into the S700 then the s700 would be that real competitor for the series 60 we always wanted: the realisation of the project p200 (the sony ericsson neonode).

yeah that would be nice, but if this uiq 3 thing is true than surely we won't see it in shops in dec but rather in march!

symiban costs a whole $5USD per handset. Cost should not really be the issue
