No rain in sight it seems  found a decent stream online. Should be an aggressive day from us. I thought we were going to be smashed. I know we destroyed the poms, but they were pretty horrible. Good to see us being competitive again..... Good career from Smith. Good time to retire I think.
Any who. Back on topic. The z2 is being released on all major networks in Australia. Good to hear since Vodafone didn't pick up the z1.....

Really? Vodafone picked both the Z and Z1 up over here which was great. Sounds like we'll definitely get the Z2 too.
I just thought we would get the exact same as Australia to keep it easy for Vodafone NZ so it's interesting to hear you didn't get the Z1.

If Faf gets out before tea it curtains for the saffers I think. Two hours until my sorry Windies play sorry poms on terrible pitch in Antigua. I'll be watching anyway. Wife will be getting me a Z1 when the Z2 gets out in the UK, should drive Z1 price down. Can afford the Z2 but can't justify the expense with two little ones to feed LOL

^I wonder if it's on full volume and what the settings are for xLOUD, ClearPhase and SForce?
It's kind of very hard to find any good comparison about the stereo speaker on the Z2. I wonder why is that so, it's like the first non HTC device which has front facing stereo speakers and I haven't really seen any big buzz about it, neither from Sony nor from tech review sites.

i was thinking the same... Probably we'll have to wait fro some decent hands on/review... 
HTC One has a lot of buzz due to the BEATS branding! Sony use its own technology, therefore the lack of buzz?
maybe there's also less interest in this aspect of the phone? Personally I really care a lot about sound and music in my devices, but not everybody is interested in having good sound, they simply do not care...  |

Yeah I didn't realise the back on the Z2 was matte until I saw that photo. Is it not glass then?

Or it's got a matte screen protector on the back, as unlikely as that might be.
With regards to the speaker, I think the reason people aren't talking about it as much as the HTC is quite simply. Most people don't even know they're there! The HTC has bigass, monster holes that scream, "SOMETHING IS HERE" and you soon find out there're above average speakers there. The Z2, on the other hand, has tiny slits and most people would just assume those are part of the normal handset functions. I've seen many previews where people pointed to the 3 tiny holes on the bottom of the unit and proclaimed those were the speakers.
I don't think we'll hear anyone really talking about it until reviews come out, not because of lack of branding or interest, but because of lack of awareness of their existance, lol. |
