Yes, truth to be told, it's just a slightly tricked of colors calibration.
I know it frankly disappointed but I still keen on Sony for reason of design and built quality.

if you mean gaming then yes,
but I doubt it will choke the GPU for anything other than that

some of the comments are not realistic...
realistically, i think that sony will use the full HD 5 inch IPS whitemagic or pixle eyes display from JDI - they are already in mass production.
sony will only use full HD display for highend devices - they will not go backward in resolution.
they will use the name Z2 - (Z>Z1>Z2...) unless an insider can prove otherwise.

Of course 1080p, but some guys here dream about a 1440x2560 screen, for what the hell you need this?
You can't see a pixel on a 5" display with 1080p resolution. Even 720p is still pretty sharp!!
The other things is, why you want record videos in 4K when you don't have a big TV with this resolution to enjoy that??? Again 1080p is enough! They just need to fix better quality and more frames. That's it!
Come on, stop dreaming! It's the famous rumor thread not the wishlist thread...

I'm pretty sure that there are those of you lot, who seem to be operating outside the confines of reality and common logic. Its pretty hilarious, but also very misleading.
I really don't see the need for a WQHD screen on a smartphone. It would provide negligable improvement in sharpness, while raping battery life horribly and murdering the GPU, which would also lead to poor thermal characteristics and maybe even throttling to prevent the phone from vaporising itself and its unsuspecting owner. |

I don't see the point either, 1080 screens are more than plenty enough in fact there hasn't been real killer app that can properly use the enire screen state of a Full HD tablet screen, it's overkill to be honest, a 12" ultraportable with a mere 1366x768 resolution can do more tasks and are way more multitasking oriented than FullHD displays we have on our smartphones and tablets. seems to me everyone's being too obsessed with the retina hype without reflecting over things whether such tech does more harm than good
