Makes me want to buy this beast of device
Making phone calls is not my main usage of the device while everything else is and the fact that according to pocketnow due to lower DPI it runs some applications in tablet mode which I find very interesting and quite convenient.
With official case from sony and headset it would be perfect for throwing it into front pocket of bag or something. |

That screen does indeed look amazing, it has to be one of the best out there.

As much as I like the ZU, if the Note 3 is a similar size to the Note 2 it will clean up sales. The ZU is too awkward to use with one hand and really uncomfortable in the pocket. The Note 2 is the ideal phablet size. ZU is a handbag device and guys don't carry handbags. |

Strange logic. Guys don't carry tablets either? Lol.
BTW who cares about the one handed usage. Really, c'mon.

So what is the ZU meant to be then? Its too small for a tablet and its too big as a phone although it does have that ear piece. Its a good device but its really uncomfortable to use productively. The Note is much easier to use because of its size, even if it is older and slower etc. I also wish they gave a stylus or at least a lanyard lipstick stylus because it means you have to carry a pen or pencil if you use it in that way. All I'm saying is that its a niche product that I find hard to use. A lot of my workmates use bigger tablets like the Surface, Acer etc. then again, I've never seen anyone come to a meeting with an Android device. |

I wonder how Sony came up with 6.4inch. They should have just made it 6inch instead |

It's definitely a phablet. You get 4" phones and 5" phones. You get smaller phablets and larger ones. I think the logic is if it's going to be used with 2 hands anyway, they might as well make the most of it.
Also, Sony knows it's relatively tedious to call with. Hence their excellent bluetooth headsets and now mini-phones. |

Many people out there do care about one handed use. The one thing Samsung manages to do is fit a larger screen in a smaller device with little bezel. This ZU is just weird as a phone.

I'm so tempted in getting this beast, anyone from the states who can recommend a good retailer?
Moving to Los Angeles soon, it could come in handy with a phone able to do submerged shooting
Online is your best option for unlock phones here in US. The sites that I go to and buy Sony Phones besides Sonystyle are:

Personally I see the ZU as a high end 7 inch tablet and the best 7 inch tablet you could get right now (well 6.44 to be exact), and I think it is meant to be a tablet hence why Sony equipped it with the best screen they could plus the tech where you can use a pencil/pen to write on the screen, as well as better multitasking capabilities with the added bonus of it being in a slim profile that has waterproofing.
You can't have both large screen and one hand usage, it would be impossible, if one would want one hand usage they will get themselves a decently sized phone depending on how large their hand is not this one, but if one is looking for a 7 inch tablet, pretty sure this is definitely on the list as long as one has the budget.

Expecting good one handed usage with 6.4 inch screen is simply nonsense.
Lol.

But its at this awkward size where its too big for one handed use and you feel like you don't want to use two hands because you're on the go. Its hard to explain and I guess its my preference, I got rid of mine after a couple of days because it wasn't comfortable. That and the screen was unresponsive at times which really annoys me. I'm more likely to get a Honami and a true 7-10 inch tablet. |
