They've certainly been on the ball with it the last few weeks by the looks of it! Without going off topic too much Craig, have you dabbled with the iphone 4 yet?

Thanks. But do I just click on a firmware & install it? It's alot different to what I was used to updating phones. Which Europe one should I use for UK?

You need a download called odin to do the flash, the desired rom you want to flash your phone to and 512.pit, it's all listed there with link to the site with all the required bits on it. Piece of cake mate, had mine done start to finish in about 15 mins.

I don't have broadband only 3UK modem. I have updated & downloaded their firmwares with it before but just tried downloading the Samsung firmware then & it just won't download it just stalls

I just had the first thing go strange on me. I turned the phone off as they say to always reboot your smartphone at least once a day. When I turned it back on it went into safe mode It also said on screen problem loading widget & all my menu icons were moved around & my wallpaper which was a live one had changed. Rebooted again & it was ok

I use to turn off the phone when I charge it. So basically with normal use and always connected to internet with SGS it take 48 hours to drain the battery. I think @Bonovox you don't have to turn it off everyday. Do it when you feel it needed.

I've EDGE/gprs or wifi connectivity problem with it and it's stock firmware. Sometimes it is not connect to net through edge or wifi neither. for the wifi problem have to turn it off (wifi) and on again and for the edge/gprs, have to turn on the flight mode then off that again.

Hope official 2.2 firmware fix the problems. But I'm sure first 2.2 firmware also bring some new problems with itself.

@Residentevil:
In SGS with 2.1 android we already feel outdated, waiting for the 2.2 and hoping for the 3. I’ve not use X10 but I can imagine how 1.6 would looks on x10 to me and there won’t be any update than 2.1 but when; god knows.
So I choose SGS over the x10 and I’m happy that I didn’t get the x10. It’s a really good, after few days of use; I’m already considering selling my 3GS.

I had the x10 and apart from the camera which was good I just found the phone too big and heavy. I also found it to be jerky and sometimes slow and I had problems with 2 of them with all my music going missing and photos coming out distorted after few days of owning it then it died on me. The Samsung right out of the box and up till now no real issues at all.

Out of interest, is XWJM2 a UK FW? Just noticed, I had myplayer (iplayer app) on stock rom, now I can't find it in the store. Would it be a country specific app?

Yup my Desire does that too as far as I can remember! If you use Handcent SMS instead of the default (try it out if you don't) there's an option to change it
