@ all P800 users (after getting the CDA >>> R2A upgrade)

there is no need for reflashing your unit....we have already inquired Sony Ericsson Philippines about this. We are yet to received any feedback or response from them. We will just keep u posted regarding this....

thanks

oh good. at least i dont have to bring my P800 to have it reflashed again to get CDA R2A01. Anyway, while i am waiting guess what i did guys. hehehe, i edited my cda_version.txt filed found in c:\system\data which read CDA162001/8 R1B02
and changed it to CDA162001/8 R2A01

at least my CDA software looks updated to my eyes. Kasi naman i had it upgraded in the first place. who knows it might be there and the text file was the only one that got erased. oh am hoping.....

Well... I'm not sure if any 3rd party vendors can unlock the P800 at this moment. It's still a new phone, and unless you want to risk it going completely dead due to illegal unlocking, I wouldn't recommend it.

But you can try going around Greenhills if you want and ask them if they unlock Ericsson phones.

Should the hanging issue be accepted already as inherent to the unit? Seems it could not be solved, nonetheless the upgrades in firmware. Maybe Smartnet techs could explain the hanging issue? Or anyone else. Salamat po!

Hey guys! Just wanted to announce (since I'm proud of this fact... )... that I've just gotten my P800 last Saturday!!!! WOOOHOOOO! This phone is just simply... AWESOME!!!

Now to install some apps and games... I haven't been this excited about a device since my mother bought us a Sega Genesis console!

P.S. Good thing I haven't experienced any hangs or the camera bug yet. Got the phone with R1D firmware already so I dont need to upgrade it na...

Just experienced my very first "Press Power button for 10-secs." last night. I put the DUO stick while the phone was in the USB stand and connected to the PC. Suddenly PC couldn't detect my phone anymore (even after multiple removal and re-attachment to the base)! I removed it from the base, removed the DUO, and turned it on. It booted up and then displayed a very scary message (for me, at least) - "Reinsert disk or data may be lost". The touch screen was not working at this time. I did nothing and after awhile the message faded and my P800 started as normal. The the "soft reset" message popped-up and so I pressed the Power button for 10 secs. After that it continued normally and when I re-attached it to the base, it was detected instantly again! Woohoooo! It seems nothing was deleted or broken by that incident... its now working perfectly again although I dont know what the cause of this incident was.

Was it my insertion of the DUO while it was still connected? Is that bad?

Well, I just got my phone last Sat. and, thankfully, the latest firmware updates were already in it straight out of the box. I have not experienced the camera bug and the only time I experienced that 10 sec. reset thing was in that incident in my post above... nothing after or before that. Great!
