...Good low light from the C905? Assuming of course that it's something reasonably close! Compare this INNOV8 shot with this C905 shot. Both were shot in Auto mode according to the EXIF data but the result is very different. The C905 seems to have a problem with exposure in scenes that are too far for the Xenon flash. Notice how the car in the lower left corner in the C905 shot was hit by the flash but the rest of the scene is almost pitch dark...
The only reason the i8510 pic seems to have more light is because that light comes from one of the cars headlight's that are on.And in the c905 pic, there is no extra light because that same car's headlights are off. Look closely.

Headlights not on in the C905 shot? Look at the below crops. (Notice also that the rear lights are on. Most cars don't allow you to switch on or off just the headlights while keeping the rear lights on.)
Notice how much brighter the INNOV8 shot is? The reason is because it uses a much slower shutter; 1/8s compared to C905's 1/125s shutter plus that it's aperture is slightly wider: f/2.6 vs C905's f/2.8. Both cameras use the same ISO 200 sensitivity.
Also, I doubt that the headlight actually lights up the whole building like that. Look at the stone pillars on the fence. Notice how the sides are bright? Would that be from the headlights as well?
And how about this C905 shot vs this INNOV8 shot?

Bummer, you are right, I can't make a come back after that one
Anyway, this still doesn't change my judgment, it's still the C905 for me all the way

I have seen the photos you post from your W900i. In your place I'd keep it. Walkman and SE's best 2 MP camera in one package.
I have seen new, unused ones on sale at eBay but can't buy one more phone now unless I'm prepared to be strangled by my wife while sleeping...

That can be fixed by staking the pic in night landscape mode. Will use a higher iso setting anf the pic will be brighter, but noisier. |

lol
I'm sure the w900i can't take better pics than the c905, that would defy the rules of gravity and everything else we've been taught at school. But thanks anyway

I'm toying with the idea of getting the samsung on my upgrade in Dec but i'd like to know if firmware updates are readily available as they are on Nokia's and Sony ericssons. I had a Samsung D720 years ago which was a great little s60 handset but it desperately need its firmware updating which i was never able to do. Anyone have any idea whether samsung offer this service like SE and Nokia? |

@gola,
I meant that you should keep your W900i as a good backup phone in case you buy the C905.

The latest shoot out with C905 is up on http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/news/?news_id=8174
It seems like Innov8 wins in almost all category except of course the portrait night shoot.

All these pics are terrible. Too much noise in all of them.

True, bare in mind that i took this shots under extreme low light condition. I think the noise is still acceptable as a camera phone. |
