It's a shame, i was hoped enough people would be prepared to donate in order to keep the site going without an upheaval.

Laffen, for the love of god please dont sell esato! I would go mad if it turned into a yourmobile.com style ringtone site. You have made esato the great site that it is today, itd be a tragedy if you sold it.

I am disappointed by the behaviour of esato active members.... I cannot accept that esato riches 25000 hits per day and only few people have already donated some money.... It seems that we all know how to get without giving anything.

Wow Jamojdm, that's very generous. If the other options don't work out, I really hope you can help save Esato.
Take you,

Attention AT&T! You'd better start supporting MMS or I'm switching to T-Mobile! |

We from the Philippines are very much affected by the inability of Paypal to accept donation/payment from our country.
Pinoys who are willing to contribute please check http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=15350&forum=32&start=0 under the Regional / Asia Pacific Thread. |

Laffen - We've thought of something else you might wish to try re short term funding, for when the donations start to dry up....
How about a mobile phone quiz - easy to set-up and surely would appeal to all the phone buffs in here - $10 entry fee. Quiz to be posted on the site at a specific time. First person to post all correct answers wins perhaps $100 etc... the rest goes to Esato.

I have the distinction of beeing an unemployed geek/student, so if I can afford a few dollars - so can you!

Agreed Bart - Infact, one of my earlier suggestions was to try and acquire a P800 from SE as a prize in a raffle. Again, the aim was to boost donations.
...I've posted several ideas in this thread now... but the one I'm still curious about (as to its potential) is regarding members donating old handsets. I have several that are from the last year or so and are just piling dust. Does anyone happen to know whether there is any re-sale value in second hand handsets? If so, I think this is someting to be considered.
...& lets get a quiz going asap. It will be interesting to see which Esato member really knows it all when it comes to m/phones... and should raise a lot of money as well. |
