it probably is just what you mentioned, but cant be arsed to download a 130mb file again just for a patch when 2.40 installed fine on mine.
the only thing is that it may be compulsory to get the update to sign into psn

Yeah, especially when it was a mistake on PlayStation's part. How do you find out the size of the updates? (eg. You just said its 130MB)

i downloaded it from the UK PS site on my computer and used my flash drive to copy it over to my ps3

Ah right, fair enough. That's probably the quickest way to go. PS3s are really slow with downloading, no matter what your connection speed it seems.

yeah you have to do the update if you want to use PSN. Which is why i did it. Needed some COD4 action 
I dont know how big the update was, but it was defo SMALLER than 2.40.
Took about half the time to d/l.

i was exactly the same... had to get my COD4 fix!!!
took a while on mine to be honest, but just let it run on its own while i did other stuff...
trying to level up in COD4 is like an addiction of some sorts!!! |

Yeah it definitely didn't take as long. Maybe 2.41 was simply a small patch for those that had 2.40 already. Mine would have taken 10 mins max, instead of up to half an hour for 2.40.

^ have been playing for a week..it's looking good..much more realistic gameplay than VT3...
Will buy it soon...gotta beat federer again...with nadal
EDIT- And guys please try out the Siren:Blood Curse demo released today..i'd like your feedback on it..one of my friends is a part of its dev team...might as well give him some responses on it..
