I am very happy with my P990 and will most probably buy next P series (not P1). I accepted reduced multitasking in P990 because I needed an all in one device (TS, qwerty, camera, wifi, full html, bluetooth stereo etc.). Now that I am used to those things next P series should offer something more and without any memory problem. So if the next P series gives me that I am a buyer:).
p.s. Nokia is out of question unles they started to produce phones with TS. About WM I am watching but nothing for me so far. |

@Koto,
I fully understand your reasoning but there are strong rumours that Nokia are working on a touchscreen device and lets face it the spec they will be delivering is just so far ahead of what SE offer.
Do you really want to deal with a company that now shows so little respect for it's customers. To be honest SE could launch the most amazeing looking device on paper but a lack of trust is hard to rebuild and the way they have behaved since the launch of UIQ3 and more recently is nothing short of disgusting IMO many years of using and trusting Ericsson and then SE is finished for me, and the latest turn of events has now made this a much easier decision to arrive at how ever sad it is i prefer to spend my money with a company i can trust to support my device and needs and not sell me works' in progress and not even finish the job.

It's funny you guys still think that SE will do something about it; next thing, they'll continue updating releasing new bugs with new updates. AND it won't fix the memory problem; mine started restarting 3 times a day since yesterday. I am looking to sell it but here they sell for only 250 euros and I'm not ready to give it away for free just yet.
I test drove a HTC P 3600 in the last few days and it's nice...not as nice as my P990i but it can run 3 or more apps at the same time, it's not freezing , it's not restarting itself and it has GPS! Full fledged GPS!

If Nokia comes up with a touch screen Symbian device it will definitely be on top of my list. I like the "P" series concept but I'm fed up with this situation unless SE can provide a reasonable solution soon.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD |

Yes, it is good news. So, SE gets an extension until September

All right guys!, the effort well worth the push... but as sad as it is... SE is not considering their final customers... that is a shame... just like always feet(design) is not connected with the head(management)... and head has no control of the mouth(the so call CEO)... I just had it.
I really think SE phones are great and with lots of potential, and at the end I will keep using my P990 either until it tears apart, or something new and better comes up... but not SE anymore. I have just spread the voice among my buddies and one of them works as Operator's customer service, and I have just told them about this wrong attitude. At least my family, buddies, and coworkers are aware of this, and they will not be buying any P series for the time being.
I started looking on HTC phones, and they look promising. Maybe they are just a few steps back of SE, but SE attitude is just wrong.
I have a free phone every year that the company gives away, and I will just switch to Nokia's. Very stylish, not as good as SE, but I am certain the next one would be the N95, or its successor.

That is very good news. If that becomes true than I think nokia is my next all in one device. It has already better smart phones regarding specs (E91, N95) and also better software support. But lack of TS-qwerty combination keeps me away from it. Thanks for the info, it will be so interesting in the near future I hope. |

Now that its confirmed that P990 f/w development will continue, I have to only say one thing to SE :
Wise decision, period
Certainly this is what expected from a professional company like SE interms of treating customers.
Hell yea am happy and hell yea nice going SE !

Hi ahmed-sama and all,
As good as this news is how can it be right that you all had to exert so much pressure on SE to do this and how can they even think it was right to even consider trying to pull a stroke like that on you all.
Those are the things that worry me the most that they would of been quite happy to have done nothing and left you all hanging. How can you trust them if the only way they do the right thing is by force i know i no longer do.
Plus to be honest although i really do like the designs of the new devices they are all really way behind in the tech they have and just don't excite me the way they used to. Those of you that are happy to stay with SE are welcome to just not for me anymore.
Marc
