What a great looking phone!
If this is for October release I bet Samsung and LG will be able to knock one out before then but I doubt it will be as good as this.
The only thing I really hate about it is, I wasn't thinking of buying this but now that I have seen it its just begging me to buy one.
Video blogging? Is there a limit to the length of videos you can blog?
PS. I think the blue version is reeaaaly nice.

Biggest for retail sale at the moment is 2gb, but San Disk has announced 4gb already. |

IMO the phone is brilliant both looks and spec-wise and I loved the design since those spy pics were leaked. Great job !
Only minor problems I have with it - it is a bit thicker than I expected and those touchsensitive soft keys don't seem too comfortable.
And the stated 102 x 48 x 17 mm size doesn't seem to be correct. If the proportions in the hi-res Hasselblad pictures are right and if the height of the phone is really 102.00 mm, then thickness is as follows:

My thoughts.
Basically they went improving the quite-succesfull K800 project:
- Stylish - Let's face it: (my) K800 is pretty ugly!!
- Keypad - Coming from Nokias, I've hated keyb layout, particullarly missing on/off keys, now present on K850
- HSDPA
- 5MP camera (let's hope it isn't just numbers)
- Auto lens cover
What it could have
- WiFi
- Optical zoom
What I hope it will have
- Faster processor / U.I. usage

Finally? There are only a few that have it on the side. You make it sound like all se phones have the connector on the side. |

Good spot. Yes, it is too thick, 19mm not 17mm.
This is the critical measurement of pocket friendliness; I'm afraid I'll keep my K550 for this reason, and probably get a F700 when that's released.
Honestly, apart from the £$%ing buttons the K550 is nice, slim, decent cam, ultra speedy OS, excellent Java engine and most importantly pocketable.
Oh well. Signing off this thread. |
