To those that have problems with low sound volume:
In the service menu if you call up the speaker test, the rear speaker is set at 50%, increase this to 100%. I have noticed a slight increase after doing that.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

CDA: CDA 162007 R4B03

Any ideas about this? Why don't i get R5xxx ?

The cda u hv mentioned [CDA 162007] is incomplete. There should be a slash followed by a 1-digit number [if it starts with 162007]. The update is currently only available for cda's 162007/1-162007/4. Recheck your cda if it matches one of those mentioned above...

@Stallion
I think power management-wise it's slightly better, but I noticed that if you leave the media player in the background after watching a video, something prevents the backlight from switching off until you kill the media player with task manager. Apparently the new fw still has bugs, eventhough there's significant overall improvement. Maybe that's why your battery drained so fast

Man, SEUS went all wonky on my update. I had to restart four times to get it to finally take.

One thing I noticed immediately is that I can no longer use push email with my pop accounts. What's up with that? Worked before but the option is no off the table.

Overall the phone seems more responsive. Hopping around is much faster which makes for a better user experience.

Too soon to report on my battery life.

What makes you think this time its real??? We had many retailers advertise 'coming soon bst-34'. Never came!
And why would SE not advertise 'coming soon' if by month end they would have a new battery?

Just want to make sure, I don't get AGAIN excited and then no nothing! [addsig]

yeah.. once upon a time a 1100 mAh/bst-34 was expected to come right out of the sales package, but has never been released I guess. We got a 900/bst-33 instead.. Actually, comparing the battery life of this beast to other smartphones in its class I cannot complain at all, but.. U know, one can never get enough

Ares, I dont want to disappoint you but that shop is a piece of shit!
I bet everything that they dont have these batteries and that they'll never get them. I wanted to order something from that store a while back, but luckily read the a bunch of comments about them and almost every 2nd customer complained there. The shop is also somewhere in france so in my case I probably wouldnt have gotten my money back if I ordered something...

I was going to say that. they have a very bad reputation on hotukdeals too.

also, none of the usual mobile places(mobilefun,l8shop,expansys etc) have this listed at all

Push email on POP accounts?!?! I thought the POP is only based on a pull concept, like scheduling the downloads at pre-defined times.
That option is only valid for IMAP, right.

You guys othink i´m posting this based only on the pixmania add??? I remember what pixmania did with the P990 release dates, always changing

All i can say his it has been confirmed by SE people, it may not be out on 30 April, but it will not take much longer

A little hint:

http://www.planete-se.net/index.php?showtopic=19157

and

The battery will have 1120 mAh and won´t be compatible with K800i and M600i.
