I have just got the nokia gps unit. Works really well, 6-9 sats even with the unit sitting heavily within the dash. No probs connecting, phone picked it up straight away and TT was up and working with about 2 mins of getting it out of the packet.
At the risk of getting yelled at, i have 2 relatively easy questions (they have been answered before...ish!) The first is the voices, many thanks again fatreg for those. I have followed the instructions and copied the voices folder to the root of the mem card. However when I load TT and change preferences->voices, i can't select any others, other than the ones preinstalled. Am i doing something stupid? I have also done something similar with the UK postcode map, copied the zip folder to the root and then loaded TT change preferences->manage maps->switch map, but alas the one that i want isn't there and not given the option to point to a different location. Does it require me to install the respect parts and if so how is this done? I do apologies for such a long post, but hope somebody can straighten me out. Many thanks in advance

Sorry if this has been answered.
The volume level of the alerts and instructions are so low that there is no chance of hearing them while driving. Especially if the stereo is on and you are driving 300 km/h
Can this be fixed? |

Simple question, How? i've just bought a 1 Gb card, formatted it, put in the M600. When i go to transfer the file My pc suite will only allow me to put in one of the sub files, pictures, video etc. If i drag into just the memory card file i get message not supported! Is there a root file? or the root meaning unfiled? I'm transfering the file via the pc suite, USB connection, unfortunatly i dont have a memory card reader for m2 cards.
Can you tell me where i'm going wrong?
Regards

To answer some questions:
I have a BT car kit, and so long as I connect to that first, I can then connect to the BT satnav receiver...
If a call comes in, the voice prompts stop, but the mapping continues.. once the call ends, the voice prompts return.
copy the voices to the tomtom folder.
Make sure that "multimedia" in the volume is turned up full, as well as the tomtom volume.
and one question of mine:
does anyone know an easier way of changing the standard alerts for the separate speed camera types?

Easier if you format the card in a card-reader then you won't have these sub folders (pictures, video etc. Then it's just drag and drop. Take a note of the existing sub folders beforehand as you may wish to add these manually when your done. |

it on the last reply, there is no need to make the folders when you are done, they are made automatically by the phone when the card is inserted. |

I agree that the Holux BT-321 GPS unit is a great unit, i got mine for £35 off ebay last week and it works first time with my P990, picking up about 9 to 10 satellites. Can't go wrong with the price! |

Bought this on ebay some time ago, around 33-34 GBP.
Works perfect and is very sensetive.

Hi, I've installed Tom Tom 6 on my P990 and it works fine. I now want to activate the Traffic via Tom Tom Plus but whenever I try to connect I get the message 'Could not connect to Tom Tom Plus service. Please check the wireless data connection on your mobile phone.' Obviously the Tom Tom is not able to connect via my GPRS but it is definitely working as I can still connect to the web. Has anybody else seen this and been able to find a solution? Thanks in advance. |
