Sven won't play Walcott, even if Crouch, Rooney and Owen were out injured. He's just there on holiday.
Anyway, more seriously, he's more likely to play 4-5-1 and alternate between Crouch and Rooney.

england wont win the world cup for a while. Yes they have a good team on paper, but do not do well on the big stage. This is like many oh the other european teams aswell, Italy and Spain for example, good teams but dont perform the best when it comes to main events...
at this point of the tournament, Argentina or Holland look set to win it.... |

Holland??
Spain is playing well, they got all the big guns!
France sucks!
England.... err got a few problems
Italy can still pull of a win, I doubt theyll do well in the finals if they even get there.
Brazil too is playing a bit slack...
Should the above mentioned teams still play the way theyve played so far, they wont make the quarters... |

Spain always plays well early on, but in the final stages slack off a bit. Holland atm looks like one of the better teams, compared to everyone else. We'll see how they do against Argentina today.... |

if Walcott dont play that'll be the biggest mistake of svens life (to waste a postion on teh bench likie that) theres many quality english strikers.... why just do it for show?
I hope he plays him and i hope he does well |

what i meant was the usually play good enough football to get through a couple rounds, but drop off later on. All teams have a bad game or 2 in the first round and still make it through... |

We got through (we already assured that) with a little win against Mexico.
Mexico fought very well and gave us a hard time. Anyway, at least half the usual team rested on this match.
Costinha, Petit, Deco, C. Ronaldo, Pauleta...

PORTUGAL 2 - 1 MEXICO
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4853302.stm
"Portugal advance to the second round for the first time since 1966 in some style, having claimed maximum points. Mexico - with a win, a draw and a loss - will hope to find some consistency as they head into the knockout stage yet again."
==
IRAN 1 - 1 ANGOLA
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/[....]all/world_cup_2006/4853320.stm
"The odds were always stacked against Angola reaching the Round of 16 going into this match, but when they took the lead through Flavio their hopes were suddenly raised. However, Bakhtiarizadeh’s equaliser effectively ended their dreams. In a spirited display from both sides, a draw was probably the fair result, although Angola will be frustrated that they could not convert more of their opportunities."

Even if they lose by one or two goals, they still win the group.

Well incase people did not already know Owen had his scan today and his has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, which is months sidelined doubt he will start the season for the premiership, poor bloke is plagued with injuries at the moment.
They really need to give Walcott a chance, poor lad must be itching for a chance, Sven is screwed bigtime that will teach him for taking 4 strikers instead of 5.
