its not surprising that Sony generate confusion with the number of different memory sticks available from the original memory stick, to the memory stick select to the memory stick PRO, memory stick duo, memory stick PRO duo and recently the M2
...and now the Compact Vault

And you non series60 fan boys thought surfing on those phones was useless, lol.
Glad they went to NetFront. Sweet way of rendering and also for texting on smartphones, glad there experience is now competitive to Opera Mini.
Also NetFront has a lot of other apps for regular phones that I saw. |

it shouldn't be prob since lense has protective glass or plastic. plus se normally has a camera button for one touch access to the camera on all the phones that have no lense caps. but maybe you just dont like the phone.

yes and if that plastic get's scratched or dulled, then you can't "open" it can you? With a proper lense cover, it doesn't matter if the lense cover get's scratched, since you open it to take a photo.
And the other factor is the speed of camera activation. On the W900 you need to unlock the phone, then press the quick activation. On the K750, one slide of the lense cover and the camera is ready for action, whithout having to unlock the phone (it is unlocked for camera functions only when you slide open the lense).
So read my posts properly before you jump to conclusions about whether I like the phone or not. I actually think the phone is excellent, but three factors mean I prefer the K750: the lack of active lense cover, the larger size and formfactor, and the lack of inbuilt fm radio. I have stated on this forum why those factors are relevant TO ME ONLY, and I accept that for many people those factors don't matter at all. So before you accuse me having no good reason for my preference of K750 over W900, look back on my posts to this thread and read them, please?
The screen of the W900 is awesome, that would be good I admit, but the advantages to me are not enough to balance out the points I raised above. |

Full web browsing on that lovely screen will be excellent on this phone.
Having the phone half-open and browsing the web in landscape view would be excellent.

if you go to the 'try the phone' link down the left hand side
http://www.sonyericsson.com/s[....]10333&zone=pp&lm=pp1&pid=10333
and click the RHS of the phone to view it from the side there is a slide switch between the walkman button and the memory slot.
What does this do? open the phone??? I was hoping they were planning to put a lens cover on the camera! |

PUSH EMAIL!!!! I seriously want this feature!!
@Max_Wedge; Gotta ask you on this, because our challenges on SE with 3G vs no EDGE. In restrospect I've conceeded, yet new information since the last few months has me, well on the EDGE. As many of you know EDGE has been available here in Canada & the USA for just over 2 years now. However new developments of UMTS+HSDPA for 850/1900Mhz and will be full out by mid 2006; in both markets. YEah!! Now do you think SE will begin to make more quadband phones or phones supporting UMTS/HSDPA for North America?
Either way I think I was stupid for buying the z500a from my provider last week. I can still refund or return it for the k300i or pay a little more for the z520a (BT would be nice but not needed right now). This phone is just a place holder for the k750i & W900i in a few weeks to 1.5months top. What say you ... keep the z500a or goto the k300/z520a |

I believe UMTS is on the rise. Even here in Australia all the networks have now released 3G services. (still no EDGE though). The W900 is a sign of how serious SE are about 3G. I don't believe they will ever devote much more energy to EDGE, as it will quickly become obsolete as 3G becomes common. However if lucky their may be a W910i (aka S710) model released with EDGE in deference to the US and Canadian market. If they do it could well be the last edge phone from SE
If you waited and got the W900, then the phone will still be useable on 3G services as well as a great camera and music phone. If an EDGE version of W900 with UMTS as well comes out, you would have the bestof both worlds |
