So by the looks of it, the device is ready to be announced anytime, it's just that Sony wants to play with us and gave us this little game to entertain and tease. so much for gimmicks... really

What they should do is just say "This is a low end phone, if you want us to release it click here" then if they they don't get 10,000 or whatever clicks then they don't release it.

according to rumoured leak by unnamed ASUS employee, the Nexus tablet will be available in end of june... read available so it might be announced before that... in another hand If the Nexus tablet ( lets name it eePad Nexus ) will be available at that time, which is logical as the Google IO is 27~29 June where we might meet the sweet JellyBean...
Why Sony will announce a device (or devices) only 1 week before Google IO ?
The other question is, Google tends to announce a new version of Android very quickly in 2009 they announced 3 versions, but the third was like a quick patch ( just 40 days between 1.6 and 2.0/2.1 ), in 2010 only two versions 2.2 in May and 2.3 in December. again in 2011 two versions 3.0 in Feb. and 4.0 in October... this year we didn't have any 1H announcement yet so Google IO might be a good chance to have an announcement... but what we will have later this year ? Is Google stopping the multi-versions per year announcement to focus on one version per year and make the OEM happy ?
The wait is very bad, new Android version is announced and we have to wait for 1 or 2 months before the source is released... then we will have another 6 months to see products updated or uses the new version... I hope Google fixes the first part so they announce the new version and also the immediate availability for the source code

If there is a Nexus 7 coming end of June my guess is will be 4.1 and the SDK and source available right away since the device is released. |

Google's next conference is about 2 weeks later, So I think asus's nexus 7 will have android 5.0 or whatever jellybean will be.. Also ios6 will be announced today.. This is going to be one exciting month..

The ION is supposed to hit AT&T shelves on the 24th of this month. I think Sony is just generating hype before the phone finally releases. |

They have said secret xperia and ion is not a secret xperia. Moreover its a global campaign, not us specific. So i doubt its in anyway related to ion.

the fact that the next xperia announcement is about something fun...and they have mentioned "in YOUR hands" (if we think double meaning to it...the minis fit very well in peoples hands)
it is about time they announced the mini and mini pro successor!!! fingers crossed!!! |

after pressing the fast forward banner appears a link of a secret competition. There are 4, so i'm guessing at least another 2 days, i have already answered the 2. the first was about skype, the second question was talking about expressing your personality, and asking about facebook. what could be next? if these are the main features of the new phone, is going to be low end, i guess. maybe the one running ICS ? |
