I never get the mms o. Wait a minute, isn't there a limit to the size of mms you can send via glomms?

News Flash: At 6.30am this morning, I checked to see if Glo GPRS was back at my residence, and - yes, I got a connection.
To tell the truth, I have steeled myself up, half-expecting it to go off again any moment. Its sad, I know, but that's how it has come to be.
Anyway, its still on, as I am posting this from home. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed.

having tasted of the glo gprs at my end; i think the cybercafe's are still lot cheaper, paying N120 for 2 hours. GLO in Ph have been engaging in illegal deductions from people's line. When you stop browsing on Glo GPRS you can't check your account balance immediately to know how much was consumed. when you try later on you will get a shocker. If you mistakenly enter magic plus you will have a life experience of the glo magic on your credit. I am making arrangements to visit mtel port harcourt office latest next week when i am fully recovered from malaria. With a credit balance of 0.0 on my glo i don't intend to put it in a set till sometime in october. MTN has coverage so let me enjoy it. |

@otokx: I agree to the shocker you are likely to get playing around with MagicPlus. I got bitten once when N400 went off my account via MagicPlus, and I have not taken a look at it since.
At 20k -35k per kb on GloDirect, I find Glo GPRS a viable alternative to cyberCafes. Plus the added benefits of convenience, privacy, security, its a winner - if only GPRs would work as its supposed to.
@mamba: I have rectified the issue, but you will need to re-register. Sorry

Hi Guys, I guess I could count myself as one of the few priviledged glogprs enthusiasts who actually gets signals all the time, maybe I'm just lucky. Even throughout the weekend while I was at Ijebu Ode and Ikorodu, I had access. The only problem I frequently encounter is "communication error"
Demmy, I've actually been looking forward to meeting you online, this is a great string you've started here, kudos.
Aya, 35kobo/kb may seem little to you, but wait till you have to download a10mb software for your pc.

@amby: One thing you must avoid using GPRS for is downloading heavy files. At all costs Of course, except the GPRS is free. |

@AYA I TOLD you so! They have finished their work. @All M-TEL GPRS costs 65 kobo /kb. Can U believe that? And they have the balls to say they have "the cheapest GPRS" tariffs. What's the difference with 70 kobo? There goes all that waiting!!! And they did not offer us a free trial period! Utter nonsense! >:-( |

Glo GPRS went off less than 4 hours after that, and it hasn't come back till now!

Has anyone actually tried using Mtel GPRS, it may provide better satisfaction than glo. Afterall the sim is free. I wouldn't acquire one myself because I loathe that network just as much as I do MTN.

@amby: Mtel SIM free? Or is it one of those "Pay N2000, get N2000 airtime" gimmicks?

Just wanted to say "hi!" to Esato people. Do I hear good news about MTEL Network's support for GPRS? I'll be happy to test it, if you can give more information. |

Any opinions on Vodacom entering the Nigerian market? A deal might be brokered soon for SA's largest network to buy V-Mobile thus gaining a foothold in in Africa's most lucrative communications market.
